La Michoacana — Restaurant in Delavan

I live just a few blocks away so I went there at 11:10 AM on Saturday and no one was there and there sing on there door and online clearly says open 11 to 9 every day. I Came back around at about noon and still no one there. Went back at 4:45 one girl was there and she spoke hardly any English so I found if very hard 2 tell her what I wanted being my first time there. I was told they had homemade Ice cream, a bag of Doritos that they put a bunch of stuff in idk what its called, horchata and mexican corn. I was really looking forward to the Ice cream and I did have a few samples and most were good but it would've been nice if they were labeled so I knew what I was trying. The girl pronounced it but I couldn't understand her. Someone else came in after me and ordered some sorta a drink and it looked really good so awhile after she left I tried asking they girl what that drink was but she didnt understand me. I asked her if they had horchata. She again at first didnt know what I was asking but then she seemd 2 understand and directed me over to where the horchatas were. I sampled it and I got a large one it was really good! I knew a friend of mine had one of those Dorito bags with all the stuff in it but I didnt know what it was called so I again lol tried explaining to the girl about the Doritos with all the stuff in it but again language barrier. So I sat down with my drink and some guy was next ended up ordering the taco bag with I was trying to explain to the girl lol. At this time some other girl came in to start working so shortly after the guy left I went up to the other girl hoping to have better communication and I did. The bag with the Doritos not bad either. All in all the food, drinks and ice cream are really good but they need people who can speak a little better...

Finally got a chance to visit this new location as I’ve been to the other two and have had great experiences at both, and once again super friendly staff and amazing ice cream. I think it’s important to address (judging by the rude comments and having been at other locations owned by the same family) that they were super busy which is amazing!! It takes awhile longer yes but it’s worth it and nothing feels better than seeing a local business doing so well. I went in & ordered a strawberry yogurt & soon realized that pineapple was added to my yogurt. I then mentioned that I did not ask for pineapple in my yogurt as I ordered it only strawberry & I’m allergic to pineapple. Luckily I realized before taking a bite. I was then made another yogurt & the one who took my order seemed to have a smark remark.
