Dolly Spanker's — Restaurant in Delaware City

As always, the location is fabulous. I understand, the "Re Branding", can be challenging. But, the hostess who seated us, was somewhat rude & when we asked if we could sit at a table, other than a Hightop, which, she told us, "this is all we have", when, there were several regular tables available, in the covered outdoor area, she said, go ahead, I don't care, & actually, threw the menus onto the table we chose. I did speak to the very gracious manager, & she was apologetic. I ordered the "Whiskey Dip" brisket sandwich. It turned out to be, a smaller than expected, French dip, on a really good roll. But, no way, was it smoked brisket! And, it was lukewarm. We will go back, but, I will order something else. The iced tea, was quite weak. We have been here several times when it was Crabby Dicks and the service and the dinner was always good. We were seated promptly and served quickly. The Cream of Crab soup was up to its previous standard of excellence. The Jerk Chicken Bowl had a very nice sized portion but was very dry. The Blackened Shrimp and Avocado Po Boy was unbelievably bland and served with a limp piece of lettuce, but the roll was very fresh. French fries looked like they sat too long in the the bottom of the deep fryer. Hubs liked the hush puppies. What bothered me the most was that the restaurant floor was very dirty in the room we were in and the dining room we walked through.This is not acceptable. While I appreciate they have kept prices reasonable, it was $75 with tip, no alcoholic drinks or dessert for a mediocre dinner. I hope it was just an off night because we have enjoyed this restaurant...

The hostess was amazing and we’re sorry we never caught her name because she was such a delight when we walked in tonight & probably the highlight of our evening. We had high hopes but unfortunately too much of Crabby Dicks is gone.. the crab cakes were good but the peach salmon was tasteless and unbelievably with canned peaches.. the apple sauce wasn’t edible and the fries over cooked! The clams are gone along with other favorites they once had .. we never saw our waitress.. asked for a beer and was told they had sangria..? The flies and little biting bugs were awful!! All in all, might recommend if you’re going out for drinks and you sit with the bartender, but over all, do not recommend.. hopefully they are just working out new menu kinks and...
