So, I drive by this place all the time but this was my first time trying them out. I called in my order for take out.... I ordered the 10" pizza with extra cheese and bacon and i also ordered 6 wings, extra crispy, with Garlic Parm sauce. They had my order ready in about 20 minutes. Both the pizza and wings were hot and still hot when I got home, about 10 minutes away.
The service.... I ordered over the phone and that was very easy. When I arrived, the staff was very busy but waited on me quickly. They weren't as friendly as I would have liked, especially for a local establishment, but they were efficient and attentive. The in dining area was small but tastefully decorated. There were about 10 people dining in.
The pizza.... I liked the size and it had a generous amount of toppings. They also provided an extra cup of the sauce for dipping. The sauce was tasty with just enough spices and they use real bacon, definitely a plus.. Unfortunately they burnt the bottom which I didn't see until I got home; and while it still was edible, the burnt taste prevailed.
The wings..... They gave me 4 flats and 2 drumsticks and as I mentioned, I ordered them extra crispy. The size, taste and texture were fine but unfortunately they weren't done crispy enough for my liking.
I will probably give them another try but I was hoping for a better experience.
Update: I ordered again and this time got the 14" thin pizza with extra cheese and bacon. The pizza was done fine enough and my only issue was that the bacon was not at all crispy and therefore didn't have a lot of smoky taste. Also, for $23 I expected and...
Read moreDon't show up early for your pick up order. It seems it irritates the middle aged blonde with the blunt cut bob. Couldn't have been less hospitable, couldnt even smile. Instead of being polite by telling me it would be a few more minutes and suggesting I grab a seat at the bar and have a drink while I wait, she curtly hissed "it will be ready at 6" with emphasis on 6 (the time I picked) and stomped back around the bar. Given that less than warm reception, I went back and sat in my vehicle until 6:01 when I returned and got my food. She had it sitting on the bar...it was just barely warm, so it was probably ready when I got there and had been sitting out while I was in my vehicle.
Please know, I didn't expect my order to be ready nor was I upset that it wasn't. And the diningroom was maybe half full so it wasn't like staff was hopping around and too busy to try to be anything other than efficient. Not like the Friday evening before where the place was non stop hopping for hours and our server (not the blonde) could not have been nicer.
Just thought I would get there early (8 minutes) just in case. I do this at other restaurants and am happy to sit at the bar to wait...because friendly staff make me feel welcome...and I am glad to give the establishment more of my money by buying a drink.
Food is good but this person (if she isn't an owner, which with my luck she probably is), is bad news for...

One caveat to this review, it was brunch, they were busy, but there were two tables open the entire time, so they weren't 'slammed.'
Food arrived after one hour. Eggs Benedict dish was literally cold, not even Luke warm, which means it had been sitting out in a breezy area for a while. Second dish was room temperature, and I shouldn't have eaten the over easy eggs on top of my ribeye hash(potatoes), but I was starving. 30 minutes later, I paid the price for not listening to my instincts. Insert your own colorful imagery here, but the remainder of the day's plans had to be canceled.
A couple arrived shortly after us, at the next table over, and ended up waiting an hour for their food. They were putting on their coats to leave when their food arrived. They sat back down, suspiciously touched their food with their fingers, because they had no silverware, confirmed with each other that their dishes were cold, stood up, and left. So, it wasn't just our isolated experience during this Sunday brunch.
Maybe the pizza is good, or the stromboli, but the Sunday brunch is not worth the stomach rejection risk. First time trying Gabby's, with excitement and high hopes, last time speaking their name, unless it's to warn other new customers. ...
