Overall pretty underwhelming dining in my opinion. I took my Wife here as part of a celebratory night out; we were going to go all out with getting an appetizer, entrees, and dessert. For the Appetizer we got the Crab Bruschetta for $12 (was 4 small pieces of Bruschetta) which tasted great all things considered, was just a little small for the price. For our entrees I picked Chicken Parmesan ($22) and my wife chose the Surf and Turf ($36). When our food came we had to exchange the "newly rolled" silverware with recleaned silverware as there was hardened miscellaneous food chunks from someone elses meal still present on my fork for example. My wife and I both agree the steak with the surf and turf was pretty tasteless, even with us trying to cover it in butter/sauce. Only other complaint on surf and turf is the mashed potatoes were sub-par. My chicken parmesan entree was just "okay." The linguine pasta included was mediocre. Its worth noting we were told they do NOT do substitutions as my wife asked to sub out a side she strongly dislikes and were told "no" flat out but the server.
We opted against getting desert due to the experience we had up until that point and chose to get ice cream elsewhere.
2/5 stars overall, service itself was pretty quick - but i imagine it is quick when some of the food tastes microwaved. Total bill was $70 for 2 people with...
Read moreIf you're looking for something other than the seafood focused fare (albeit very good in this area) generally found near Fenwick, you REALLY need to try Mio Fratello for great Italian food.
Just a bit west of Fenwick off of rt 54, this truly qualifies as a bit of a hidden gem.
They are great with large parties, take reservations, and will split checks but not for parties over 8.
You can easily share these large, wonderful platters, but you will have to split them yourselves. Dont expect them to ruin their dishes by chopping them up before you see how great they are. They will gladly provide the extra plate for you.
Brianna is a great server, very congenial, has been there for years, and is throughly knowledgeable about the menu, wine list, and everything Mio Fratello.
For an appetizer, if you like sausage, you must try the Sautéed broccoli rabe.
Every dish in our party was exceptional! Lasagna, chicken parmesan, cheese ravioli, lobster ravioli, fettuccine with meat sauce, and eggplant parmesan.
We were there celebrating a birthday, but had cake waiting at home for that. I was a bit sad that I didn't get a chance to try their enticing dessert offerings.
We are already planning our return trip with other family members. Clearly, we will be going back, quickly,...
Read moreWe have several friends that are regulars at Mio Fratello so we decided to go for dinner yesterday. We were the only ones in the dining room ( they were serving several people in the bar ) and we waited for someone to take our drink order, then about 10 minutes to have a waiter introduce themselves and tell the specials. We ordered steaks. We waited 20 minutes for our salads to come out. The waitress told us the runner didn't bring it out. I had two croutons in the Caesar Salad. I was given a shaker of Parmesan cheese. Quite a while later I received my filet, which was fine and my husband had a steak on his plate that did not look like what he ordered. He waited for someone to come around so that he could tell them and finally a runner came out with a container of hot mushroom gravy. The waitress said she didn't know why it was brought out that way. He said the quality of steak reminded him of the Ponderosa or possibly what we used to have from the school cafeteria. It was incredibly fatty. Our drinks took quite a while to get refilled. We were so disappointed. We had expected this to be a great place to dine and we both agreed it was a one and...
