My wife and I have driven past this restaurant for several years and were very excited to try it. I made reservations for this Valentine's Day and surprised her. Once she knew where we were going she was excited as well. After arriving and being seated quickly, our waitress came to our table. She was very short with us - I figured she was just busy, took our drink order and said she would be back. 10 mins later she arrived with our drinks (but no water, we had to request it). At this point she took our appetizer and meal order. The drinks were affordable, and tasted great! The bread we ate while waiting was very good as well. To get quickly to the point, we waited over an hour with nothing - not even a water refill - between our appetizers and our food. I had to get up from the table and wave another waitress down and explain to her we hadn't eaten yet. Meanwhile tables around us had come and gone. Our food came out about 15 mins after I said something. The food was wonderful, and the manager came over and apologized and said she would comp our drinks. An apology is good, so we continued eating. While eating we overheard a waitress at a different table introduce herself. She continued telling her table about several Valentine's Day specials not on the menu that our waitress never even mentioned. In fact, when she talked to us at all, which was rare she was abrupt and just seemed bothered. At this point, we just felt we needed to thank management for giving us the drinks free, but explain this was our first time and the service from our particular waitress was just bad. We had the manager come to the table. I thanked her and explained the situation. I said we would love to come back but overall for our first time this was just a negative experience. Her response was, "It is a holiday and we tend to get overwhelmed. Probably not the best idea to come your first time on a holiday." We were floored. She literally told us not to come to the restaurant, because they get overwhelmed on a holiday. Then she told us dessert was on the house, but walked away before the conversation was over. I feel like we gave them several chances, and I am even open to going back with another clear apology that takes some ownership for the mistakes. The food was wonderful, but we were there for 2 1/2 hours just to get pasta. We sat for over an hour without a refill of water or any bread. When they did refill water they left empty glasses on the table. It was not just unimpressive, it was bad. We hope to find a local restaurant that we can support for nights like this, but at this point...
Read moreWe ordered a pizza for a birthday party and after an hour of waiting and guests starting to gather for food, we called, were put on hold repeatedly for ten minutes, called back and was greeted by a very rude staff member who seemed to not know anything about our order, and didnt seem to care and was just trying to get us to order again. They said they didn't remember taking the order but that maybe the driver did...? I mean what on earth? The kicker is we told the venue that we had the party at that we ordered from Roma, and they said "oh we have a deal with them, did they give you the discount for the food?" Nope, they didn't. When we ordered, Roma said "oh yeah we know that place" but never even mentioned a discount. But we were going to let that slide until it didn't show up at all.
Was over $40 for 3 pizzas, but since they didn't even have our order, my hubby ran across the street to little Caesars to save the party for $15. I'm telling you, I've never been more embarrassed to have to announce that the pizza and fries that I promised aren't coming to an entire party.
I had hungry guests standing around waiting, kids begging me asking "is the pizza almost here?" and even went over my time limit with the venue because everyone had to wait for the stinking food. So thanks for the embarrassment, but I highly suggest you guys work out how you take the orders better if one can be lost so easy, a big one at that. The guy who took the order should be talked to. Almost ruined a 6 yr olds birthday party.
Have heard good things about this place, and the food does look good, but I didn't get to try them and they let me down so much so, that this...
Read moreI called the establishment around 1PM as I reviewed their menu online and didn’t see any gluten free options for pasta or pizza. I spoke with, whom I’m assuming was the hostess, and they provided that they have GF pasta options and that any sauce could be used with the GF pasta. We drove 45 minutes after work on a Friday to eat here as we were also going to make a night of it and go to the Bally Casino in the area. The waitress also advised that they had a GF pasta option when I ordered and then came back out apologized and said they actually have no GF pasta option besides steak, crab cakes, and another veal option. I was extremely disappointed as we weren’t looking to spend an enormous amount of money but they were running a special on a surf and turf. I was like great I’ll do that. The other couple we were with ordered tomato bisque as their menu stated “Tomato and Crab Bisque.” Well it came out and the crab was in the tomato bisque which was misleading from the menu. It should have read “TOMATO CRAB BISQUE.” They had to send the soup back as she had a crab allergy. Fortunately, the manager comped the bill after bringing out the menu to refute that the menu was misleading. At the end of the day we spent over $125 on a meal that we weren’t completely satisfied with and didn’t travel 45 minutes to get a steak that we could have gotten at Texas Roadhouse. The only good thing about the meal was the company and the mashed potatoes. So if you’re in the area get a side of mashed potatoes to go. However, we will probably opt for the Green Turtle...
