Wayback Burgers — Restaurant in Dover

This ... was alright! Closest competitor (in terms of burger, experience, price, value) is Five Guys. Pictured is a 'Double Bacon' with an extra patty ($2.80 more - at Five Guys, an extra patty is $0.80 more). Meat was flavorful, fresh and HOT. Smashed when grilled a bit like Smashburger (not my preference). Extremely well prepared, toppings/condiments super fresh and generous. Bun was fresh. Didn't have fries or anything else. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Store itself was good, liked the old time music playing. Bathroom could be a bit cleaner. Overall ambiance and experience, Five Guys wins (plus they have peanuts). But Wayback is a close second.

As for the 'Triple Triple,' I'm definitely going to have one at some point, just not as a contest. I want to ENJOY the thing not shovel it into my mouth, even for a $3k prize. It's something like 2 pounds of cooked meat. based on the burger I had today, it's DEFINITELY doable, I'd just have to be super hungry. Not today.

This evening, we were permitted to celebrate the birthday of our 17 yo who is in a Mental Health Facility near the Dover location of Wayback Burgers. (We selected this place because of its proximity to the facility.) We asked our child what she wanted, and entered the establishment with our order prepared and our debit card ready to pay. What we did NOT have with us was cash for a tip! The young lady who took our order - AZURE is her name - was gracious and not at all put off by our lack of cash. She smiled, was polite, efficient, and our order - sizzling - was soon completed. The food was all AMAZING - especially the fried pickles! (My first time, and I will definitely get these again). For 17$ the food was not worth that much money. I got the regular cheese burger and regular fries and a coke. The burger wasn’t the best but it also wasn’t the worst but definitely not worth the 10$ it honestly tasted like a slightly better McDonalds at most . The fries were actually pretty good better than most chain restaurants in my opinion. Maybe it was just my experience or maybe that burger isn’t the best one, but I’d probably go back to try one more thing on the menu and give it another chance. The service was amazing though, workers were super cool and polite and were attentive. The atmosphere is also pretty good, it’s a very nice relaxing place to definitely just sit down and talk with friends or family for a bit while you take a bite, and it’s clean. Definitely disappointed in the burger because I was expecting more but like I said, maybe I’ll go back to try something else...
