So why rate a three for atmosphere⌠Because when you go in if you googled the restaurant prior you wouldâve expected to be greeted with a restaurant that had strategically placed trees which look like lemons hanging off of them throughout the restaurant but when you walk in there are none! I asked the hostess about this and she said âoh theyâre out on the patioâ. I think you should change up your Google pictures because itâs very deceiving for someone whoâs never been.
I was celebrating my birthday and I was gonna be alone. I just moved to the area and I donât have family around and have to make new friends so I was hoping the happy hour ambience would allow me to do so but unfortunately that was very discouraging. There were not a lot of people at the happy hour at all! One woman that was waiting for a friend spoke to me until her friend arrived. She explained to to me that there was a time when the happy hour was packed, but she also said that itâs changed hands a couple of times- now granted itâs off-season here in Florida but still I think theyâre happy was a bit weak.
It was advertised there was gonna be a person playing piano on Wednesday nights. Again another one of the things that attracted me to choosing that as my choice for my birthday. When I saw no one arriving, I asked the bartender about it and he said he really didnât know why the piano entertainer was not there that usually the guy is there on Wednesdays (of which it was) and then I thought well hardly anyone is in here maybe they called and told him not to come. đ
Just a suggestion if you want to be competitive with other restaurants in the area, you need to have what theyâre offering, which is a bar menu during happy hour. Of course, I wanted to order the happy hour Cabernet, thatâs why people go to happy hours to get happy hour pricing, etc. but after trying it, it was not very good and I had to ask for replacement with another type of cab which I found out later had cost me $17! Because there were no bites and I had not eaten since breakfast I ordered a Caesar salad and it was huge and of course the price tag was bigger than what dinner salad wouldâve been or even a bar menu that was hugely disappointing to me as well!
So Douglas (manager) was very accommodating per our conversation (bartender was excellent! ) the actual chicken Parm and rigatoni was excellent (huge portion!) and being a fussy Italian the sauce was very very good! Would I come again? NoâŚ, I need more of a social area and I think the price tag on a single meal for me was a little steep probably because no dinner salad option with dinner and youâre offering a huge salad so youâre charging a larger price point for that salad. If youâre getting decent prices for your alcohol, maybe you should include a small dinner salad with your dinners! Hopefully you will incorporate a bar menu (and wouldnât if be safer for you if you have people who are drinking and not eating now you have people leaving your restaurant with probably an rate of alcohol that is higher than it should be!)
Maybe when the bartender leaves (he stated he was moving to West Florida soon) you should hire someone who looks like their Italian. It gets scary for an Italian person to come to an Italian restaurant and everyone looks like theyâre Irish lol
They gave me a âfreeâ dessert for my birthday. I couldnât eat it of course so I took it home with me, but I felt that they couldâve went above and beyond even though I said I was gonna take it with me. Maybe they couldâve put a candle in it maybe they couldâve even come out and sang Happy Birthday! The restaurant was not overcrowded or busy so I feel that couldâve been a nice touch!
Thanks Douglas maybe some changes will bring you more of a crowd at happy hour. There are a lot of us that still live down here during...
Read moreI've now tried going to this restaurant a few times before writing a review . As you can see from my other reviews, I only wait till it's bad . The management here shouldn't manage a pizza place never mind a fairly high end restaurant. Soon they will run the place into the ground. There is so much potential. The food is hit or miss. I happened to order a meatloaf which I know was a bad choice. I sent it back and was met by the chef that they would not be removing from the check. I had 2 other guests try it before they made me send it back. I said it tasted 3 days old and he said no this was from yesterday. Why come over and argue about a 1 day old meatloaf. I didn't ask for it to be removed I just didn't want it. Besides that the drinks are strong but not craft, the service is slow, they want you out the door by 9. I wish they would replace this restaurant with one that respects the location and what it has to offer. The manager is rude and really doesn't know what it takes to run a restaurant he just knows how to hustle and fill in the gaps for the staff who he looses each week. This place was good at one time and wished the new owners would change it but when you keep the same poor management you get...
Read moreMy son booked a reservation for 6 for my birthday. I got there early. First I was not happy that you can't park your car by yourself... only valet parking. I walked in. There was music blasting so loud and people were yelling over each other. I asked if the music is going to be playing all night. She said they could lower it. I was waiting for my kids to arrive. The music stopped but the people were so loud. We sat down but couldn't converse without yelling. The prices were INSANE !!!! WENT TO SIT DOWN. THE CHAIRS WERE A CHEAP PLASTIC AND MY BACK WAS DIGGING IN. I COULDN'T TAKE THE PAIN. THE WAITER BROUGHT ME A CUSHION. IT WAS A LITTLE BETTER BUT CUSHION KEPT FALLING ON FLOOR . FOOD WAS OKAY BUT PORTIONS WERE SMALL. A LITTLE TOO SALTY ALSO. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK EVEN IF THEY GAVE ME A FREE MEAL. DON'T GO. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A CONVERSATION, ...
