Arrived early, so as to watch the local Holiday Parade of Lights. Coming early, the table we requested, was open and we were seated immediately. I actually knew the original family/ owners of Davetos and have literally been coming here for decades and was looking forward to our evening.

Upon getting seated, after ordering our drinks, the very nice gal who seated us, came back out and told us would have to move at 5:45, as they “had a reservation”. However, upon our previous request to make a reservation, we were told the restaurant “doesn’t make reservations”. When questioning the policy (which clearly wasn’t a “policy” at all), we were told it was for “friends of Amanda”…. I presume, Amanda was the owner. When I asked if “Amanda” was there… apparently she was, but was unable to step out and explain it to us. So, they sent another young gal with a very terrible disposition and seated us in another location (which they could have also seated “Amanda’s” friends). Stressing our dis-belief at their behavior, the second gal said, “What do you want ME to do about it”? At this point it would have been a GREAT idea for the owner to make a freakin’ appearance, offer to comp us a glass of wine and explain the reason someone else was granted a RSVP and we weren’t. Then have a short little training session with the rude young lady. (I’ve also had quite a bit of experience in the service industry, and have forgotten more that young lady will ever learn).

We decided to go elsewhere (and had a fabulous dinner and time).

I’ll order a frozen pizza before I ever step foot in Davetos, for a $30 pizza ever again.

No thanks!

FOLLOW UP The owner reached out having saw my review. The acknowledgment was appreciated. Thank you Amanda. Will give...

I do not usually post opinions, but I did have a previous review post for this restaurant after the first time we ate there. At that time, I was pleased with a salad that the wait person recommended, and the kitchen put together. We have frequented Davetos more than a dozen times in the past year, and what we found was the only "safe" thing to order is the nachos or a salad. If that's what you're ordering...enjoy! If you change red sauce to white, I can pretty much guarantee you will not get what you ordered. If you can't (doctor's orders) eat red meat, and request the veggie option, it WILL NOT HAPPEN! This past Tuesday is the last time we will ever go to Davetos! BOTH of our orders were wrong! Although my husband was not served what he ordered, he ate it rather than cause problems. Once again, I was served meat (sausage!) in my supper after ordering the veggie version. I am UNABLE to eat meat for medical reasons. It's not just a choice-thing. Accidents happen (& the same accident occurs at Davetos with regularity!) I told the waitress what happened, and she said the kitchen would remake my supper. They did...and then charged me for a 2nd order! At that point, I refused the 2nd supper and we left. We'll never return. The waitress felt terrible. We still tipped her the 20% she should get because it was not her fault, but I could never recommend this restaurant to anyone I cared about. Serve the wrong meal..then charge you twice... I've never heard of such deplorable service or practice. She said it was the "lady in back." I don't know if that was the manager... No one came out to talk to us, or apologize. I get angry thinking about it....

I visited this Italian restaurant for the first time yesterday as we were on vacation in the area this week. The location was convenient right on Main St. (Rt. 50) right in downtown Delta, CO, the outside of the restaurant was nicely decorated, I was not greeted when I entered the nearly full restaurant (at 5:00pm), but waited at the front/greeter desk for several minutes without being acknowledged, was seated at a nice, clean table (booth) near the front window (awesome!), a friendly server came in a minute and asked what beverage I wanted, delivered it in a minute, then came in a couple minutes and took my order, their menu had a variety of Italian-related food choices in different categories, my meal (lasagna with a meatball and sausage and 3 pieces of french bread) was delivered steaming hot in just about 10 minutes and was sooooo delicious!, the huge dining room was clean and tidy, their free WiFi worked well (I got the password from my server), and no music...

1st time going. I was extremely satisfied with the food! I tried the Spinach Stuffed Manicotti. That was DELICIOUS!! They also make their own Blue Cheese dressing, that's good! The bread that came with my dinner was so fluffy in the middle, perfect for picking up the sauce! I got lucky with my dish (also why I tried it), it had both Alfredo & Marinara! Both had good flavor. I will be back & I hope you try them & enjoy as much as I did! * I went a 2nd time tried both sauces separately. Marinara is absolutely wonderful full of flavor! I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the Alfredo. But if you mix the 2 you get a wonderful creamy Marinara. Try for yourself. This was our first time here, the crab stuffed mushrooms were delicious and something I don’t see on menus very much. We both ordered the ricotta tortellini, mine with marinera which was tasty and my wife with Alfredo which was ok, the tortellini itself wasn’t bad but nothing to write home about. The tiramisu didn’t impress us, we both thought it was too heavy with a thick almost Greek yogurt texture, not bad just not our thing and nothing like other tiramisu I’ve had. Overall it was a pleasant experience with the mushrooms being the real star for us, there were a lot of other options on the menu to make it worth trying again.
