I was looking for a place to get a good breakfast sandwich this morning. I found El Coqui online and made the short trip. When I got there I was excited that the parking lot was full and so was the inside. At that time of morning seeing it so busy meant they had quite a following, if nothing else for breakfast. I went inside and they had menus in both English and spanish on the walls. I know some Spanish but was nervous of how well I could navigate ordering on my own. When my turn came up I guess the attendant could tell I was a little out of my league and made it clear I could order in english. I ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches with extra bacon. I also got a medium coffee con leche. My coffee was ready first as expected and came out almost perfect. I tend to like my coffee a slight bit sweeter so I added a dash of sugar and it was now perfect. Initially I thought the price was a little high for a breakfast but when the sandwiches came out I almost felt I under paid. These were large 12"sandwiches with perfectly fried eggs, bacon, and plenty of delicious melted cheese. The shop carried many delicious looking desserts and a whole menu of other items I cant...
Read moreI have been meaning to leave a review since day one, August & November 21-22 of 2020; I didn’t get a chance but will start the year off with a positive review. I ABSOLUTELY love this bakery!! Not only is everything fresh but everyone I have encountered has been so Amazing and Kind. I stop here now when I come to visit family and friends in Florida. Not only have they gone the extra mile for me knowing I’m coming from NC but even to help me with short notice. From Kevin who makes the cakes (absolutely delicious) to every single lady assisting behind the counter, (fresh breads, cookies, sugar doughnuts, etc) if I could remember all their names I would name each and everyone of them. No matter how busy they are; and believe me they are ALWAYS busy, the 3 times I’ve been there I have left feeling like I was back in my Island. Thank you to all. See...
Read moreHow sad it is to be a good customer and call to place an order and be on hold for 20 minutes. Then I hang up to call again and the young lady that answered disregard that I was on hold for 20 minutes and rudely told me she was taking care of customers. Why even answer the phone and not clarify immediately that they have no time to take orders. Ive been a general manager for over 22 years and customer service is very important. Being informative upfront to avoid a customer being upset is a must. She was rude and not respectful when I mentioned it was my 3rd time calling and being on hold twice and just hung up the phone. I visit Coqui bakery to support local business owners especially because I am Puerto Rican myself and due to her rudeness and inconsiderate behavior I will No longer support your business. Good Luck...
