I stopped in with 4 of the twelve grandkids after hearing good things about Roma Pizza. No one was up front and no one approached us after standing by the door for five minutes. There was an empty six top table in the back so we went to take a seat. The vinyl table cloth was covered with oily grease and food debris. We waited at the table for about 15 minutes and went to the counter to see if we could get some service. There were three people in the kitchen and two look directly at me and the two older boys several times. There was pizza in the hot case that appeared to be sold by the slice. I got the boys to pick out what they wanted and then we waited and waited. While we waited at the counter another customer came in. It was about five minutes later she looked at us again. I was just about to leave when finally the woman asked if she could help us. I explained we had waited at the table for 15 minutes and then stood in front of her for another 10 minutes waiting for service. She had a real attitude and said, “Well that is not how we do it. You first have to order at the register then we take your order to the table.” I was totally shocked the attitude she took with me in front of my young grandchildren. Knowing they were hungry I bit my lip and swallowed my pride and did not play into her negative and toxic attitude. She tried to engage me in a harsh or belittling manner. I asked could we order three slices of the cheese Sicilian and . . . She then turned to the gentleman that came in while we were waiting for service and asked could she take his order. The kids mouths dropped open as they realized she had just turned her back to them as we were ordering. I was so shocked and aghast I called to the kids to leave the table and restaurant. My two year old started crying and saying he wanted pizza. The 7 and 8 year olds that were at the case with me were just in disbelief. I had to go the table and get the two year old who did not want to go. As we were leaving one of the gentleman from the back came forward and tried to get us to stay but by then my two year old was crying and he did not understand. I had heard good things about the pizza, Stromboli, and other dishes here but never got a chance to give them a try. All the grandchildren said they never wanted to come back. We ended up picking up three pizzas from Pizza Hut, not my favorite but the kids...

My husband and I have been eagerly waiting to visit Roma Pizza, and we’re so glad we finally did! From the moment we pulled up, we noticed how handicap-friendly the restaurant is. The sloped sidewalk leading from the parking lot makes it easily accessible for wheelchairs, and inside, the seating is accommodating as well, with pull-out chairs and a designated handicap-accessible restroom.
The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. We went during lunch and were excited to order off their lunch special: pick two slices, out of all the pizzas laid out like a pizza buffet, making it easy (and fun!) to pick what you want. The New York-style pizza was the standout for both of us. It had the perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings. My husband tried the meat lovers and the pepperoni and sausage slices and said they were among the best New York-style pizzas he’s ever had!
I also tried the grandma pie, which was fantastic. The fresh basil and plump red tomato sauce really shined, giving it that authentic, homemade taste. While I personally preferred the New York slice, the grandma pie was still high on my list of favorites.
The owner was so kind and clearly passionate about his craft. He proudly told us that Roma Pizza is rated number one in Deltona, and it’s easy to see why. The dedication to quality is evident in every bite. I even took a photo of his award, which you can check out.
Beyond pizza, they offer a range of items like calzones, Philly cheesesteaks, and a variety of desserts, including cakes. The place has a charming New York vibe, down to the cute glass dishes they use for serving. The bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus.
Overall, Roma Pizza is a true gem in Deltona. We’re lucky to have such a great mom-and-pop spot, and we can’t...
Read moreAfter reading reviews I was excited about a new Pizza place. Unfortunately my Pizza was mediocre at best. We got I believe the Supreme. The main issues i had was the pizza and vegetables were not cooked all the way through. Vegetables still tasted raw and instead of that pleasant bite of Pizza you’re expecting it just tasted bland and raw. I’m not giving up as I see from other reviews people enjoyed it so I will for sure give it another shot.
I’d like to mentioned the owner might want to be a tad careful when answering to go orders at the front. You could tell he was aggravated and made remarks to his staff about the person on the phone. I understand if you get frustrated on the job or even if you’re dealing with a difficult person but you may not want to show other customers that frustration as it comes off unprofessional.
Even with all that said I plan to return and give this place another try as I enjoy supporting local businesses.
UPDATE 10/23/2020
I returned to try a simple Pepperoni Pizza with a side of meat balls. This was MUCH BETTER than the first pizza I ate here. I’m bumping to 4 Stars as the meatballs were excellent too. It wasn’t the best Pizza I’ve had but...
