Schooner's Breakfast & Brunch — Restaurant in Denison

Went here Saturday for breakfast and ordered the waffles. I was served two frozen Eggo waffles and two sausage patties for $16! Flipping EGGOs. I am so disappointed. I am hoping this was because they maybe were dealing with the rising lake and didn’t have proper food service delivery. Serving frozen Eggos is not ok for a place that calls itself a breakfast and brunch place. I would have thought the server would have of apologized and said sorry today we only have frozen Eggos in lieu of real waffles. But nope, the eggos were proudly served and no one batted an eye. Is this the norm? If so I’m embarrassed for you and it’s not a good look...

We were here the 2 and the 3 of May watching the water rise at High Port. Something has certainly changed. Food, service were great. We sat outside cause the weather was perfect. Inside, the bar area looked very comfortable. Typically, an egg is an egg but I got a couple over medium to go with my biscuits and gravy. Everything tasted amazing. So we tried Schooner’s at Highport Marina over 4th of July weekend. The atmosphere sucked: loud, tinny music; head waitress scolding younger waitresses in front of patrons; slow food delivery; uncooked, doughy pancakes; and lack of overall aesthetics. Its only redeeming feature was our waitress, Shawna, who was attentive, friendly, and made up for our poor experience.
