Big mistake trying Sunset Pier for dinner tonight. We are a family of 4 and we were wanting an easy casual dinner. My husband and my son got burgers and my daughter got a meatball. All the ground beef items we ordered had extremely hard bone fragments in them. They were inedible. We told the waitress and she brought some of the bone fragments to the kitchen to show them. She returned to the table and gave a quick apology, but didn’t offer to bring anything else from my husband, son or daughter. She disappeared for a long time and I finally decided to go ask another waitress for help. I wanted to pack up my meal and leave since no one else in my family could eat their food. Our waitress brought us to go container and our check & never came back so I had to go to the front desk to ask them if they would adjust our bill based on the fact that no one at the table other than self could eat their meal. I asked for a manager and the waitress at the front desk replied “there is no manager, only an owner and he’s not here.” I asked her to find our waitress since we hadn’t seen her in forever and she told our waitress to go talk to the kitchen to see if our check could be adjusted. They finally agreed to adjust our check, but our original waitress came by the table, threw the new bill on the table and kept walking. We asked three different people for help and they were all visibly annoyed. Instead of a decent meal, we got a hearty serving of eye rolling and avoidant attitude. I would not recommend Sunset pier or return their based on their poor handling of this problem. If there’s a problem, fix it instead of rolling your eyes at customers. They seriously need to check their food quality and handling AND customer service....
Read moreThis place was a "BIG LET DOWN"! I got the family together & checked out the web site & menu. All looked good. We called to make sure there wouldn't be any problems, loaded up, stopped to get a bottle of wine since the web site said it was "BYOB". Set the GPS and took the drive. We finally arrived, parked, & started up the walk way to the restaurant. We were all talking about how nice it will be to have dinner with a glass of wine & watch the sunset. When we got to the hostess I noticed an index card on the wall next to her that read "cash only". When I asked about that, she confirmed that they absolutely do not accept any form of credit card. Cash only!
I don't usually carry more then about $50 on me, & I knew our bill would be much more then that. I also knew it didn't matter how much I complained, we weren't going to be dining there tonight. The thing that bugs me most though, is that there's no mention of "Cash Only" on their web site. If I knew, I would have planned appropriately. When I said this to the hostess, she said I should have called to ask. I said that's like calling to find out if you have forks. It's generally assumed that any serious business in this age would accept credit cards and restaurants...
Read moreCame here with a group of friends for dinner after a day on the beach based on the reviews we read online. We started with the crab spinach dip which was brought out cold and had a horrible flavor. We tried adding salt and pepper, but the base of the dip itself was fishy and spoiled. Next, we received a cup of the lobster bisque and the sunset clam chowder, both of which were the consistency of water with no flavor whatsoever and oil sitting on top. We finally decided that we wanted to leave and not try any more of the food we ordered.
When we told our server, Jess, the issues with the food and requested to cancel the remaining food, she was frustrated with us and said that she “asked if we needed anything with the food and we didn’t tell her” but in reality she just asked if we were done with it. We said we’d happily pay for the food we received, but just didn’t want the rest but she took the rest of the food back inside and didn’t say anything to us. I really caution anyone from trying this place because not only was the food inedible, but the staff was more than eager to argue with us than try to...
