Hank Sauce — Restaurant in Sea Isle City

This past summer I came across Hank Sauce at a small vendor fair in New Jersey while on vacation. I bought several bottles of all their flavors after trying samples. My favorite is Hanks Heat but each flavor has its own unique taste that I can't find anywhere else. Long story short....I blew through all my bottles and had to order more. The package arrived quickly but one bottle broke during transit and basically leaked all over the others in the box. It was a mess.

I immediately called them and asked if it was possible to get a new bottle sent back out, since only one broke in the shipment. I sent them photos of the broken bottle and box; where you could clearly see the other bottle labels were destroyed as well. They quickly called me back and said they would resend out a whole new shipment since they all looked in bad shape.

I cannot say enough about Hank's Sauce customer service and product, but it was nothing but top notch. In plan to keep these hot sauces in my house for years to come. You can't go wrong with this product and I dare you to try and find something on the market that taste like these do. Keep up the good work...

I used to love this place and it had been my go-to spot for takeout in sea isle. The last couple of orders from this summer (2021) have been so bad I’ve decided I’m never going back.

My most recent order was absolutely terrible. When I bit into my tuna pincho I immediately realized the fish was bad and spit out clearly rotted/ old tuna. I called the restaurant to let them know and so other people wouldn’t be given this fish and was greeted with so much attitude over the phone. They told me they would refund the pincho from the order (it’s nearly a week later now and this hasn’t happened). I hung up the phone and took a bite out of one of the chicken wings I ordered and they were literally raw on the inside. This was an issue before with chicken here when my friend’s chicken sandwich wasn’t cooked nearly enough. Nothing was fresh. Spent $80 on the takeout order and barely anything was edible. Never again.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. Online the menu looked really good. When we got there the girls working the counter obviously did not want to be there and they told us and all the people that came in after us that it was an hour long wait for food… we decided to order and wait the hour because it was only 5pm so we didn’t mind eating at 6pm… however, around 25mins go by our food was served. I don’t know if they were making it up that the wait was an hour or what but it definitely turned some people away when they said that.

Also, the food was just very underwhelming. The chips were obviously store bought and I think the guac was too because it tasted days old… I ordered the Hawaiian pork tacos and they were kinda dry.

I will say the Thai chili wings were good and I would get them again but that’s probably all I would get from this place is wings.

Lastly, I just wanted to add that the kids menu is very limited which made it hard for us to order...
