My kids have food allergies (Milk/Egg) and so we love Mexican food. The fancy place closer in Sunnyside was $15 a plate and had special spicy sauce I didn't think my kids would eat, so we decided to try out Juarez. They were so nice and accommodating, the portions were right, the cost was right, the flavor was right - the pulled beef was so deliciously tender, the refried beans were excellent - not too spicy, tortillas were spot on. So we all loved the meal (it was takeout). He even threw in Guac for free because I had to come back for the refried beans. We were all pleased with the meal. The next morning, a few hours before our flight left town, my youngest started complaining about his belly hurting (sharp pain - kind of scary). None of the local emergency rooms could fit us in before our flight. We serendipitously discovered an emergency room near the airport and they got us in immediately to see a Doctor who thought that it was probably food poisoning or a stomach bug and OK'd us to get on our flight. We spent the next 6 hours (not just him but all 4 of us) taking turns in the plane restroom. I'm not saying I know for sure it was Juarez - if I did, my rating would be a 1 - but if they read this, I hope they will consider the possibility that there could be some food prep procedure improvements to prevent this sort of thing from happening, because otherwise - they have a great...
Read moreCiudad Juárez is a Mexican border city located just across the Rio Grande where anyone will apparently find authentic and excellent Mexican food, also found throughout El Paso, TX where I was born and grew up. I've lived in many cities due to my professional career in Austin, Los Angeles, Boston, and now Denver, only L.A. and Denver also have authentic Mexican restaurants (unlike so called authentic found in the East Coast). Now to get to the point, this restaurant exceeded our expectations. My wife had Milanesa and I had Tacos Dorados (hard tacos) with deshebrada (shredded beef) plus 4 salsa flavors were fantastic. We will definitely return in the near future for lunch and dinner. Well worth the money even though thenprice was slightly higher than we expected. Waiteress...
Read moreMy wife is from El Paso, and she says Juarez is one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants she’s enjoyed. I completely agree. When her sister visits from Texas, Juarez is the one place she must go to. My wife always gets the chicken tacos dorados. Taco shells fried fresh with the juiciest chicken meat. I jump back and forth between the red chile pork plate and the red enchiladas. Other dishes such as the green chile, albondigas soup, and chile rellenos are also delicious.
Then there is Martina and Morena. Both are super sweet and a joy to visit. Even if we’d found a place with food this good (we haven’t) we’d return to visit these two.
