Tacos El Huequito — Restaurant in Denver

I got cheese enchiladas and something didn’t taste right, my husband tried them and said something was really off and had a really bad taste. I asked about them and the lady serving us brushed us off annoyed and then I finally flagged her down and said I’m sorry I can’t eat this can I just get a side of beans and we got into an argument because she said “I make this sauce myself how do you think I feel about this?” How I truly feel is I’m a paying customer that truly was trying to tell you that the food I was spending money on that I came into eat was not good and I couldn’t eat it. The chips and salsa were great along with the tacos my husband got but she actually started an argument and got angry with me. I didn’t ask her to take it off my bill or anything I just told her I couldn’t eat it and I would like an extra side of beans to eat before we closed out and she was highly offended. She made mine and my husbands blood boil and literally was the rudest person I have ever encountered in this industry and I’ve been in this industry myself for over a decade. I first encountered the amazing owners of the restaurant while working as a fire inspector for the city about six years ago. I have since retired.

The first thing I noticed was how clean and orderly the restaurant was. The kitchen was spotless and I was excited to return and try their food. Six years later I have been a faithful follower of this amazing restaurant and food! The owners treat me better than I deserve and they always ask how I am and remember specific details of my life. They are great people!

I specifically love their chicken tacos, with either or both of their red salsa and pineapple salsa!! Every single item I have ordered over the past six years has been great! Their fountain Coke is always great tasting as well. This is my number one place for tacos in the Denver metro area!! That is why I drive 18 miles one way for their amazing and delicious tacos. Combined with the family atmosphere, great salsas and food, and the option of alcoholic beverages, this place is a must visit for authentic Mexican food!!!

Called in a pick up order and had questions about sizes I can get for protein and was told “can you call back when you know exactly what you want” if someone is asking about sizes they can receive because your menu is down online you should definitely not just tell them to “call back” busy or not u should tend to every customer the same! Not satisfied with the lady who “runs” this place. Step it up a bit! Than when I go pick up my food they are waiting for me so the MAN can confront me and talk to me as if I was a child. Than get home annd looks like my food is just thrown in there annd tossed anround a few times. Over a dang question, be for real and not petty. Never going back here again.
