Update: 6.30.25
TLDR: Still one of the best all-you-can-eat seafood boils in the area. Lobster tail added to the menu is a win, RIP to the free Dungeness crab.
Feasty Crab in Derwood is still a solid choice! I first reviewed this place when they opened a few years back and was really impressed with the seafood quality, selection, and the value. I recently came back with a group of 10 for a Saturday lunch, and we all left happy.
Some things have changed since the early days, most notably they no longer include Dungeness crab in the all-you-can-eat deal (you now have to order it a la carte), which was a bit of a letdown. On a positive note, they now include one lobster tail per person with the AYCE, and honestly, it was the best bite of the meal. Sweet, tender, and perfectly cooked.
The rest of the menu is pretty much the same, which was great to see. We made our way through several rounds of shrimp, mussels, crawfish, and snow crab, all well seasoned. Service was also a win, as they were attentive and efficient, even with our big group.
At $60 a person, it’s still a solid deal. If you’re craving a boil and have an appetite, Feasty Crab remains one of the top AYCE seafood spots around.
Original Review:
TLDR: All you can eat snow crabs, dungeness, blue crab, clam, mussel, shrimp and sides at $50 per person is the best deal in town. Seafood was well prepared and came out quickly!
Vibe: 4/5. Located in the back corner of a strip mall in Derwood, Feasty crab is easily accessible for any DMV seafood lover. There is ample lot parking and the restaurant has a large presence amongst the other storefronts so it cannot be missed. Inside, Feasty has a sea of 4 top tables as well as large 10+ person banquet tables perfect for large groups. The restaurant looks to have been recently renovated and was very clean. Overall, a no nonsense layout that is very conducive to feasting!
Service: 5/5. We dined in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 10 and the Feasty wait staff was more than accommodating. The service was punctual and pleasant throughout the entire meal. Typically these AUCE places try and slow down service in order for you to order less, however Feasty constantly had a steady stream of food coming to our table. They do advertise a 90 minute limit for dining, however during our visit they allowed us to go over that. An 18% automatic gratuity was added to our bill, but we felt this was more than earned and would happily tip more.
Food: 5/5. The AUCE menu is pretty much encompasses all of their regular menu and tasted great! The snow and dungeness crabs were the stars of the show, coming out well seasoned and steamed perfectly every order. The shrimp, crawfish, mussels and clams were also very tasty and came out hot and fresh. For the side items, the fried scallops and sausage were a welcomed palate break from the steamed seafood onslaught. Feasty also serves both ramen noodles and steamed white rice as side items with the AUCE menu which was a major plus (diy crab rice or noodles anyone?). At $50 per person, it is very easy to eat your money's worth at Feasty. On our visit, we went through 8-10+ orders of snow crabs and dungeness by themselves which would have covered most of our $50 (not including the 20 orders of the other various seafood). If you are a fan of seafood boils, I highly recommend giving...
Read moreBest all you can eat seafood in MoCo. Absolutely love the crabs. The dungeness crabs were huge. And the other crabs - snow and Maryland blues were not so bad either. They did not disappoint. Feasty Crabs have so much variety of seafood- both fried and boiled. The sauce that the boiled seafood were in was so delicious and it became so much more yummier when I squeezed some lemon on top. On the fried seafood, the standouts were the calamari and oysters. The calamari were really substantial. I prefer the boiled seafood variety and for maximum tummy space I skipped the round potatoes and corn. However, I could not help myself and ordered one round of sweet potato fries for the table. It had the perfect sweetness to get the savory feel for the meal. For raw seafood, hubby and daughter demolished the raw oysters. I believe they had 2 dozen between them.
The servers are super efficient and were quick to provide your orders. We ordered just enough in one go to ensure the food was nice and hot and as we needed more we ordered another round.
If you love seafood, I suggest you run over to Feasty Crabs. Better yet, go on a weeknight so that you can be as much of a pig without too many people staring at you. But then again, seafood is so low in calories that you can never be...
Read moreThe server was kind but the food was not tasty at all. The seasonings taste like lawrys seasoning salt and oil. Won't be a place to return. Ocean Crab in chantilly VA is hands down, better! I will take the ride. I did the boil because it didn't make sense to do the all you can eat because I knew I would not finish a thing. Oh also, any left behinds you pay 10.00. Also, you cannot pick your choice of sauce for the all you can eat and to be honest after tasting lemon pepper, garlic and the feasty crab seasoning they all taste pretty much the same; Lawrys!! Let's not forget about my lemon drop that taste like limeaid... with a slice of lime on the glass not a lemon. Ooh my goodness... again the server was kind.. but I will not recommend this place. I saw it on Instagram and quite honest it will and should stay sorta like a sponsor ad/commercial on instagram.
Also, there was something that didn't agree with my stomach. I had an interesting number of bathroom breaks and I honestly believe it was the seasoning or simply the seafood. The shrimp was cooked too long because it was rubbery. The crabs were sorta on the mushy end, boiled not steamed and the egg was old and the corn was...
