Cooney's Tavern — Restaurant in Des Moines

We have not been here, but the staff is welcoming and accommodating. The service is outstanding. We come here to have drinks every Monday evening and it is without fail consistent and really cool. Of course, as the name may, it is an Irish pub or tavern if you will and caters to Irish beers and drinks. They have a peril for sale that is top-notch not some cheesy thing to take your money. My husband and I love stopping by Cooney’s on our date nights to enjoy their (free!) darts and good drinks. The bartender is always very professional and friendly and the atmosphere is that of a nice Irish pub/ elevated dive. The setup inside with the dart lane and other cozy seating is nice for a date night. I love the dark, Irish pub feel. Felt like I was back in the UK. There was only a single bartender, but he seemed to get the drinks out quickly. You order at the counter, and it's cash only.
