McDonald's — Restaurant in Des Moines

11/17/24 I'm updating and adding 2 stars because there are two Managers who are enthusiastic and provide good customer service. I've noticed that quality is high on their shifts, usually at night, even right before closing. I live across the street so McD is dinner at 11:45 when I get home from work. If I stop in during the afternoon shift on my way to work 12:30-1pm, then it's hit or miss. If they're working the food is usually hot and everything is accurate. Other times, I have to wait 5 minutes at the counter for a simple drink cup for a mobile order they've had for 10 minutes already. The two good ones are outgoing enthusiastic men who are both black–thanks to them. _

Past 1 star Review: Someone clearly used the same mop to clean the oily floors in the back, in the front lobby. The floors are so slippery in the main part of the restaurant (and bathroom) that it was like I was rollerskating. Restaurants always should have a different mop to use in different areas of the restaurant, specifically for this reason. Employees wear no slip shoes. Customers do not. Ordered a ICED caramel macchiato one morning, got hot, realized as soon as I pulled away from drive through, so I went back to drive through window, told the guy I ordered cold macchiato and that they were hot. He took my cups and came back handed me too with ice went back over to The laundry mat give my friend there’s an I had mine we both took a drink and both spit it back out it was so disgusting, What they did was they took the hot car caramel macchiato which doesn’t really taste like a cold one I don’t know why but they put ice in the hot import it into the same cup. This location has one of the best play places in the area, and the employees have always been kind and responsive when I’ve been there. The food, however, disappoints me more often than not. I know that sounds like I’m being picky, but if you look at my reviews, I rarely leave a review lower than 5 stars.

I’ve had things like a giant fuzz ball in my breakfast sandwich, very tough chicken in a sandwich (which is confusing with how their supply chain and cooking work), and dozens of wrong orders that I couldn’t get corrected because I had already gotten to work on the other side of the metro when I realized it.

Why do I come back? Well, sometimes it’s just the most convenient spot when I’m in a rush. I hope they’re able to fix some of the quality control issues, because this location really has a lot of potential. However, when I have the time and option, I usually pick a different location...
