We have visited this location three times. The first time, we asked about our pickles, peppers and carrots are were supposed to come with a meal and we received an attitude about it. The second time the food was cold and we had to wait for them to fry chicken and particularly chicken breasts supposed to come with the whole chicken. We also asked about our pickles, peppers and carrots again and we received an attitude about it. Yesterday we visited the location again. This time we also received attitude and then we asked about the pickles, peppers and carrots we were told we ain't got no carrots. The issue with that is there's typically a whole tray of cares that comes along with the pickles and the peppers. We received more Peppers than we did anything in our tray. I'm not sure who the young lady is but if she's unaware of how to handle customers maybe she should quit her job. I recognize that people are tired but if someone is visiting your establishment and helping to sow a seed into your paycheck, it would be nice for you to show them some level of respect. We also ordered corn fritters and we were given six corn fritters for $2.50. I'm not sure what the issue was with the corn fritters but we had to wait 20 minutes and then she yelled out at the window at us after she had to pull over to the side and said, hey your corn fritters already. That's just not customer service to me. She initially told her she would bring them out but she did not. We pray the best for them and hope that they will take into account the concerns that people are writing about them and change. We want to support black-owned businesses but horrible customer service makes it really hard to go back to an establishment where...
Read moreI understand that working at a chicken shack doesn’t require a high school diploma, but I thought it at least required basic communication skills. Apparently, I was wrong.
And seeing as this establishment was supposedly built under the umbrella of Black excellence, I expected that standard to extend beyond the branding and into the behavior of the staff. But no—because why would that make sense?
I pulled up to get food for my family at the hospital and left with NOTHING. Not because they ran out. Not because they were closing. But because no one in that building could communicate that there’s an upcharge when you use a debit card. That’s a basic piece of information that any competent employee should be able to share. Instead, I had to drive miles out of the area just to find something else. Time wasted. Money wasted. Energy wasted. All because of pure incompetence.
And THEN one of the workers had the unmitigated nerve to say, “She mad.”
You got damn right I’m mad.
I’m mad because y’all are far too grown to be this damn ineffective at your job. I’m mad because no one could say something as simple as: “There’s an upcharge with a debit card.” I’m mad because I had to drive all the way across town while my family waited. And I’m mad because there are plenty of qualified people out here looking for jobs—people who would actually take the position seriously.
It’s not neuroscience. It’s not engineering. It’s. Chicken. And the fact that this was too much to handle is both embarrassing and unacceptable.
So the real question is: Why are YOU employed at a chicken shack if you can’t handle a chicken order? And more importantly—who the hell hired you?
Make. It....
Read moreThe food is always good/fresh. Customer service needs a ton of work. I arrived yesterday around 8pm. I placed my order and was met with silence for about 30 seconds before being told to pull up to the window. I received okra with my meal instead of fries which I asked for. I politely informed the woman at the window wearing a red beanie/jacket that I ordered a small okra on the side and fries with my meal. She immediately became angry, shaking her head while also pointing her finger at me. I was extremely confused.
I sat at the window for about five minutes and a young lady came asking what I was waiting for. I informed her I was waiting for a side of fries. (She was kind, and I appreciate her following up) I could hear the workers talking inside and apparently the woman who was serving us before had left and went to the back.
We all have bad days, but the service I received yesterday was not only unacceptable, but strange. I’ve never had a worker look at me like that simply for pointing out an error in my order. She looked at me like she was ready to fight. Instead of rushing customers when ordering and telling them to “pull up,” why not repeat the order to ensure it is correct? I am hesitant to return to this location after this experience and will likely check out another location, even if I have to drive a...
