Colombo's Coney Island Restaurant — Restaurant in Detroit

I've been going to this place for years , it always had pretty good food. My last visit was my first in about 2 years. I primarily get breakfast and occasionally lunch. This visit was a breakfast visit and I had my 16 year old son with me, a pancake critic. Lol He never has tried these so I figured he would have a good experience. I ordered an omlette breakfast , they have always been really good, he ordered pancakes and eggs. The girl waiting on us was more attentive to her phone than to us or any of her other customers. So after at time the breakfast was ready and brought to us, thrown on the table as if we were bothering her. My son gets his and says to her I ordered the regular pancakes not the kids. There were 4 silver dollar type pancakes on the plate, she goes "that all we have". Mind you that anywhere else 3 full pan size pancakes are about 6 and change on average. So I says to her , so 4 very small silver dollar pancakes cost $5.70? Yup, I said I'm glad he ordered eggs and bacon because that's not even enough for a kid. She gave me a dirty look and went on to forget my toast and the other drink my son requested. So needless to say the experience was lack luster at best , bad service, rude waitress, expensive food and left hungry on my sons part. My omlette was pretty good they didn't give me very much hashbrowns and didn't cook them well done as I requested . I don't think I will be back there any time soon and my son says he's never going back, they received an"F" from his point system. I told him next time will go to Dulys up the street, a far better establishment of delicatable...

We have come here regularly for 10+ years. We overlooked most of the very real problems because the prices were affordable.... I'm a solo parent and am low income. The prices are too high! $9 for 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and sausage! We won't be coming anymore. My daughter (who was home from college) and I decided that Columbos is not worth it. I spent $25 for two breakfasts, a coffee, and tip. I still had to deal with all the issues from the past.....subpar service, something green in the butter (believe it was a veg..otherwise we would not have stayed), fruit flies, broken down boothes, a table next to us left because of the flies, and the booth not having been wiped down and wondering if I will get food poisoning. The coffee was decent as always. I will be finding another spot for my diner needs. If you are going to charge so much you need to upgrade! Level up! I would also like to note that once upon a time I owned a restaurant with my ex-husband. I understand the constraints. For that much money I will go somewhere I don't have to overlook so many problems. I guess until I find another spot we will go to Duly's. We always came to you because we like to have a table but I guess until I find a new...

I usually don’t leave reviews but I had an awful experience at this coney, right when we walked In no greeting the waitress was very rude I ordered a chicken strip dinner combo and it didn’t come with a drink what’s the point of paying almost $9.00 and it doesn’t come with a drink then I ordered a fry on the side.. my food cake up they bagged it and noticed my second fry wasn’t in the bad.when I asked them about it the female waitress just rolled her eyes and said I didn’t order a second fry on top of that the they had condiments sitting out that looked like they were rotting place was very dirty the cook was cussing very unprofessional I will NOT be back to this location ever again only came here because out favorite coney universal was closed....ohh must I add chicken wasn’t cooked all the way so we went back it and got BK!!!!
