Wanted to love this place but the manager, Amy was extremely rude to us.
We reached out to the company via their website about hosting a small party 10-15 people. Amy replied to me via email…
“Hi, Brittany:
Thank you for reaching out about hosting a graduation celebration at Coriander. We do currently have August 7 available.
You are able to make reservations for a group of 10 right on our website. But if it is larger than that, we can offer you a private event on half of our covered Greenhouse Patio.
Attached you'll find our brochures with all of the pricing and details.
Amy”
We looked over the event brochure and decided to go to the restaurant at 2pm during the end of their lunch hours to try some of their food, as we have never been there before. When we arrived, we asked the server and the hostess if anyone from management or the events team was there that we could briefly talk to while we were there. Both the server and hostess said of course no problem I’ll let our manager know you would want to speak with her. Amy came over to our table. We asked if any of the food on the menu was the food that was in the event brochure because we wanted to try it before spending a couple thousand dollars on it for 10-15 people. She stated no very quickly. We then asked if where we were seated is the “greenhouse patio” which is listed in the event brochure. Amy replied instantly that she would be happy to answer our questions if we booked an appointment with her and that is what she said to do in the email that she sent to me. Which is not true. No where in the email did she say book an appointment for more information. We apologized that we didn’t know that we needed to book an appointment and she replied “yeah an appointment of any kind is better than just coming here in the middle of lunch rush on a Friday. Friday’s, Saturday's, and Sunday's are our busiest days.” We understand that, as we have worked at restaurants before but we were just simply trying to get a couple questioned answered. Probably would have taken less than 5 minutes of her time, but she was extremely rude and off putting. She left and came back to our table after looking to see if the date we wanted was still available, and we showed her the email she sent were it did not say make an appointment. And she rudely said “yeah that date isn’t available.”
I’ve never been treated like that by anyone in hospitality. Especially when we’re are about to spend a couple thousands of dollars at their establishment. We felt so uncomfortable by the way she treated us, we didn’t even order food, we were just going to pay for our two drinks and leave. The server came back and said sorry for the issue and the drinks are on the house. That goes to show that she knew how rude she was to us, that’s why she comped our drinks. I would not recommend this place to host an event at and I will never return to this restaurant. I hope owners know that this manager lost their company...

Our group of 6 had a terrible experience. It was fairly busy and we didn't make a reservation, so we were totally fine with waiting 30 mins for a table since it was a nice day and they took drink orders while we waited. We ended up getting our table before our drink order arrived. This is when the issues began.
The server with our drink orders: Could not locate our table to give us the drinks fresh, so they became watered down. Got a order wrong and still charged us Spilled the drink on me, noticed it, and did not apologize Added a "mezcal float" to our bill that we did not ask for.
Our waitress was no where to be found for 45 minutes until we had to flag down someone else. Our waitress finally came by and apologized. We decided to order our food all at once since we were very hungry at this point. The waitress didn't write down our orders and because of that, she had to come back to our table and we had to order everything again The appetizers took another 30 mins to arrived. Several appetizers and add ons were missing. I had to request that the missing appetizers were removed from our bill (they were still on the bill, we just never got the food)
Now onto the entree. By now it is about 9:15 pm and we got seated at 7:30. About half of the other tables had already vacated. They ran out of buns for the burger and replaced it with sourdough which was extremely below par. Not to standard at all or worth the price. The fish and chips were okay The saag was bland Overall the quality of the food ranged from below average to average especially with the price
We finally finished eating at 9:45 and we got the bill. We were informed it was madatory 20% gratuity. I am normally totally fine with paying this, but with the extremely below average service, this was not something I was okay with. We were literally the last party to leave despite being seated at 7:30 and they were cleaning up and closing as we were rushing to finish our meal and close the bill.
Also as a disclaimer, we have dined at Corainder 3 times in the last 2 years. Each time we were told they were having issues and we tried to be understanding and wanted to keep supporting hoping for a better experience. But, every single time we had the same problems. This last visit was the worst experience I had dining in metro Detroit and finally warranted...
