Crab House — Restaurant in Detroit

My husband and I have been coming here on and off for about over a year now. We were attracted to this place not only for hubby's love of seafood, but for their vast menu of awesome down home foods.

Anytime we come here, we are greeted like family, which I appreciate, but dont feel like family when it comes to the service.

Each time we come here, the service is slow, the waitress seems inattentive and the orders NEVER come out together (i.e., my pasta alfredo without the greens or mac)

We came here the other night and I ordered the "all the way" (crab, chicken and shrimp) alfredo potato with a side of mac and cheese and greens. I about finished my meal before my bowl of mac and what seemed like two leafs of collard greens. The waitress proceeded to tell me "So yea, we ran out of greens, so we aint gon charge you for these". You better not! Not for a bowl of more than half gone! As a business, I would have never brought the greens out! I would have just said we were out. Who offers customers the bottom of the barrel food, literally? Anytime you ask for something "more water, a to-go box, hell, a damn napkin, it takes forever! When ready to leave, it takes FOREVER to get the bill. I feel as if my hubby is shelling out $70 plus for a meal, the service could be halfway decent.

Its a a shame that were done with this place because of the service because the food is quite tasty, While the owners are posting instagram photos of their Benz's, Beemers and Bentley's, they should be focusing on...

So disappointed. Read the mixed reviews before ordering and decided to take a chance. Phone ordered a shrimp and chicken alfredo and a crab alfredo. The service was okay, we just picked it up to go. The smell in the car on the ride home let me know that some if not all of the seafood was definitely not fresh. First disappointment. The shrimp and chicken alfredo was just alright, with little bitty salad shrimp smaller than and cocktail shrimp ever. You figure if your paying almost 15-20$ per entree it would be more than noodles that they did not rinse off and were nothing but a giant mass of one large noodle. They dont even mix the noodles with the alfredo sauce. It really sucked to try and eat. Second disappointment. The crab alfredo was a complete and utter let down, it was grey in color, smelled so fishy and wasnt even sure it was real crab. Regardless it was REALLY OLD CRAB IMITATION OR NOT. My friend ate mine after scrapping off the "crab" and needless to say she was sick after eating it.

Dont waste your time. Should really remove "crab" off of their establishment.

Not a family atmosphere. Maybe I should have known better seeing where it was located.

Wanted to go out and support black business and decided to take my young daughter and woman to the crab house. We went @ 7:30 on a Friday night. I think the pot dispensary next door was an omen but I decided to try it out anyway. The waitress was somewhat friendly, can't fault her. It's just the other patrons and atmosphere.

Long story short, my woman felt uncomfortable being there with our young daughter, so after waiting a half an hour for our food, we decided to leave.

I don't know if we would have had a better experience on a different day, or the ambiance is just par for the course on 7 and evergreen.

If you're younger, like to smoke pot, and appear menacing, it's probably an awesome spot.

I should have tried it as takeout by myself, so I guess I'm to blame for trying to have a family dinner on a Friday night. I guess I'll have to take my money to an olive garden or red lobster next time....
