Father Forgive Me — Restaurant in Detroit

Absolutely love the ambience, artistic, quiet in the outdoor spaces, lovely gardens -- highly recommend!!!

As a lifelong resident of the metro area, this is by far my favorite place in Detroit in 2025. Firstly, its sensory friendly in the outdoor gardens (quiet, you can find a nonbusy area because the gardens are huge with several pockets). Second, its great people watching, fashion, queer folks, artists. Third, they have some great NA options - like the house made NA rose with strawberry juice, an NA beer or two, house sodas, and more.

I haven't found the staff to be super friendly in my interactions, and sometimes quite a wait for drinks - but it seems reasonable as I am often there when its quite busy.

It's too loud and crowded and jostling for me to sit inside.

My one hope would be for more food from FFM or in the little surrounding village development in the future, because this is far from most any solid dinner place - otherwise I'd be going to dinner and walking here every weekend.

My Mom and I headed to check out Father Forgive Me when it first opened, and it's time for us to head back with some more of our family members! We happened to share some snacks while visiting there. We started with the Marinated Olives and Sakristan, and then split a Mortadella Sandwich. All were excellent choices! I enjoyed the Magnolia Martini, which I believe is a seasonal cocktail. I believe my Mom had Roots Run Deep, which was another great choice! The staff is so professional, and you can see how they all work well together as a team. Whether one is coming to check on your water, another bringing your order from the kitchen, to making sure you're your beverage needs are being met to your expectations. Incredible incredible atmosphere. The outdoor seating and the way it seamlessly transitions to indoor seating is beautiful and a great option for the fall. We greatly appreciated the attention to detail that went into this space, it’s truly so beautiful. Service was great and fast, we got there right at 4. I personally loved that although it’s very high end, you didn’t feel out of place and the vibes weren’t uptight and exclusive, I was able to relax and enjoy myself. Prices are INSANELY steep for what you get. When they say snacks, they mean snacks.
