Faustina's Creole & Soulfood — Restaurant in Detroit

Wanted to show this local spot a Lil love, suggested it to 2 people based on good reports I'd heard. Ordered a small mac n cheese to test out before I bought dinners to take home to the family. Well the menu said $3.50, but the cashier said $4.77. Confirmed with her that I was getting a small- then after a few more questions she finally told me that the 5 plastic portable menus that cover the counter had incorrect pricing on them... smh. OK whatever. I was generally underwhelmed by the mac n cheese, from the portion size (which must have cost any 4.50), to the flavor and lastly the noodle to pasta ratio was lacking to say the least. I have been coming here for awhile now and today for lunch was the first time that I got the chicken and waffles. It was straight 🔥🔥 the waffle had a cinnamon flavor, paired with the chicken wings, it was so good I was knawing on chicken bones wishing I had a few more wings. I also had the banana pudding cheesecake which was equally delicious. Finally, I purchased my staple cajun catfish with collard greens, Mac and cheese for my dinner meal. Faustina's is a classic soul food spot, a definite must try for any person that enjoys good home cooked...

The food was atrocious, chicken was fried in old grease, the mash potatoes were old, so was the greens. And the so called ignorant chef argued me down. Because of his incompetent staff, who didn’t put input my order correctly. Even though the staff repeated my order correctly to me.
