Grandy's Coney Island — Restaurant in Detroit

Do not go to this Coney Island! The customer service is horrible!!! They are rude. A coworker and myself wanted to get pancakes for lunch, so we decided we would try Grandys Coney Island. Big mistake!! When I called to place the order the girl who answered the phone and took my order had no customer service etiquette. She was aggressive and rushing me through my order. I ordered their pancake breakfast because we wanted pancakes and order a corned beef sandwich. I went to pick up my order and Grandys is dirty outside and inside and has a horrible smell inside. I think I may have seen blood on the carpet? I didn't check my order because I assumed that I would be getting what I ordered. When I got back to the office and opened the container, there were no pancakes. I called Grandys to inform them they forgot my pancakes and the woman who answered said they had my order as a Big man breakfast and corned beef sandwich, she had the nerve to say you sure you didn't say Big Man. I told her no because I wanted pancakes and Pancakes and Big Man do not sound the same, the lady then says sorry and hung up. Also my stomach started hurting after eating this Coney Island food. I am disappointed because the girl who took my order was just rushing me off the phone and picked whatever meal she wanted and put it...

I would report this service to the better Business bureau if I thought they really cared. This was the most embarrassing example of customer service food service just general people that I have ever experienced in the hood. Not only was the service rude they ruined the order and then blamed me for the fact that they failed to do what I requested l. I was so embarrassed when I called to complain and I could hear them in the background talking about how they mistreat other customers and got a kick out of it. For example hash browns were raw, coffee with with no sugar, pancakes with no butter, we ordered cheese on the eggs no cheese on the eggs! When I called to explain it they talk to me as if it were my fault. I spoke with a young lady named Nicole who is extremely rude I escalated to the manager and they thought it was funny. I'm an expert in customer service I train it. I had to use more customer service skills to order food than they did to take my order...embarrassing! I'm sure no one will care about this but I'm posting it so you can be warned they have no idea how to treat people in this establishment. And please don't say it's because I ordered in the hood. I've been to restaurants in the hood where they actually know how to handle business...

On our first trip yo Michigan last Sept and before the trip home we visited Hamtramick. On the way out of town Sheila was super hungry and said pull in here (Grandy's). Dhe had the Corned Beef and i had the Coney Island. Heading down I-75 and eating in the car she said you have to try this Sandwich. We each said that was the best Corned Beef sandwich we ever had. Of were not so far away o would have turned back for more. A year later i had to return to Michigan and out of town ordered 10 sandwiches to go back to Florida. This year they had corned beef eggrolls!!! Five stars for the food and owner @ all employees. Grandy's is a hidden Gem. Prices are actually below market for what you get. I have tried over 8 places in the Tampa area and this place would smoke them all. The Columbia Restaurant is a joke in Tampa compared to Grandy's. Best corned beef ever! My need rmail is to The Food Network Diners, driveins and dives. Than email to the Detroit newspapers to review. I guarantee a mouth explosion of taste and great value for the money.
