I want so badly for this restaurant to be successful, because the Dickinson community would benefit greatly from it being successful. But management and the lack of ability of the people they hire to show up for work continues to be its biggest downfall.
When a family walks in at noon on a Sunday and the parking lot is mostly empty, you expect to be seated and served without fuss. You just want to relax, have a drink or two and watch some football while you wait for your food. Instead, we waited 5 minutes at the front before anyone even acknowledged us, and when they did we were told it'd be a 30-minute wait to be seated. I was told they had two servers "call in sick," and were working with just three front-of-house staff with about a dozen tables already seated. I could tell the woman running the place was frustrated, because our frustrations bounced off each other. For that, I apologize.
But it brings me back to my original point: What can we as a community do to help Buffalo Wild Wings succeed? Does the college need to get involved and help them with a hiring blitz? They just completed a facelift inside and it looks good. Dickinson cannot lose this restaurant. But the way things go there sometimes, I don't see how they're going to make it in the long run. Especially when they are turning away multiple people eager to spend $50 to $150 on food and drinks in a single sitting. In my case, it was frustrating to tell two little boys who just wanted to go and eat food while they watched the NFL games that we can't eat here because they didn't have enough people working.
I say all this while adding that when they're staffed, it's usually fine. The food is what it is, comes out in a timely fashion and is adequate. I know what I'm paying for, so I don't have any complaints about the food. Before this, the only issues I've had were with staff who just seemed unfriendly. But that's about it.
I just hope they can hire some better staff that'll stick around, show up for work and be personable. I know it's hard these days. But let's do it for...
Read morethis place is incredibly mid all the time. things I have experienced:
they have a "please wait to be seated sign" but it took a while for someone to notice i was standing there. like between 5-10 minutes. so long an older couple appeared behind me an they noticed it was a long wait. generally you expect to be noticed and addressed within the first 60 seconds of arrival. not even a "sorry, I'll be right with you" or upon seeing I was alone it could have been a "if you want you can seat yourself at the bar"
asked to be seated "somewhere away from everyone" bc my friend has mild hearing loss from being an infantryman. I didn't want to have to shout to have him hear. gotta seated right next to a loud group of women
on a night when friend came in out of state, there was maybe a dozen people in the place and it took more than 30 minutes for food to arrive. granted we had catching up to do.
another time, sat down at 8pm on a Friday night, didn't get food til nearly 9pm. granted it was busy
it just seems like no matter when I go, something weird or not good happens
seems to be understaffed. i think the wait staff also bus the tables. and. they're hosting. it just seems like the staff is always busy
also has a casino attached?! like uh.... what? 😅 as they say, "you're not that guy". also the place is too big. like ceiling is just enormous for a sports bar. Players has a comfier feel
the food is usually good in flavor. can come out cold sometimes. probably because wait staff is so busy that they don't have time to check. they need a food warmer to hold plates.
overall I find myself wanting to go, but then saying to myself "we should a gone...
Read moreOrdered wings and cheese curds. Within 2 minutes of placing my order, i was given 12 old and cold wings tossed in sauce. I ate 11 of them, as i was there for work and had no time. I left 1 of the wings and informed the bartender that the wings were old and were cold. The cheese curds were cooked fresh. She informed the manager and 12 dollars was removed from my bill. Not at anytime did the manager make any attempt to come out and apologize for allowing cold and previously cooked food come out of the kitchen, where he was in while i was at the restaurant. I asked the bartender if I could speak with him. Upon him coming out and approaching me, i asked him how he could be in the kitchen as the manager and allow old and cold wings to come out of the kitchen. The manager stated Wal-Mart is paying a lot more and its hard to find good help. I honestly think that the management needs to be fired and new management needs to come in. To blame Wal-Mart for paying its workers more as an excuse for a manager to allow cold food to leave the kitchen shows the disgrace that Buffalo wild wings has become in the restaurant industry. That being said, to anyone reading this review, i would suggest the brewery in town or McDonald's. As Buffalo wild wings will likely serve you old food and the management could care less, as the other businesses pay better. Such a disgrace for a restaurant. The daytime bartender was amazing is the only thing i can say was positive about...
