If you NEVER eat bbq you might like this place. If you cook ribs, burgers, and brisket at home, you'll hate it. We ordered the brisket sandwich, brisket plate, buffalo chicken sandwich, and pulled pork sandwich. Corn bread was good, not great but not bad. Fries and onion rings were great. Gluten free bun was delicious. Pulled pork was dry as sawdust. Even soaked with bbq sauce and salt it was tough to eat. Brisket was very dry. Seemed more like a bad roast than brisket. The burnt ends were hard, crunchy and inedible. Which is disappointing, the ends are usually the best part. Smoke flavor is there but when drowned in sauce it completely disappears. If the meat was seasoned at all we could not taste it. The chicken sandwich was sent back. It tasted like high school cafeteria food to me. My son who ordered it thought it tasted like it came from the Costco freezer section. Garlic mashed potatoes were dry and not very garlicky. Edible but not great. For $16 a plate we felt swindled. Great atmosphere, Brooke O. was our server she was awesome but the food was a complete let down. It must survive from drunk college kids who thrive on the ambience and disregard the poor food. Read moreI give it only 1 star.only because the guy with the dreads came out and smiled. When the server finally showed up at hostess station extremely rude..there was 1 whole table in there so wasn't busy..waitress never said hi,sorry for the wait just what do you want.told her we've been waiting for 8 minutes and 42 seconds no one acknowledged us some guy from the kitchen walked out by us twice never said hi or offer any help.she said there was no way we were waiting that long.in the time we were waiting my husband went to the bathroom, put washer fluid in the pickup, ate three handful of peanuts and still we stood there.was about to leave.but the last time we went thru Dickinson 2 years ago the food and service was great. But the pulled pork was dry and just a chunk of meat.no sauce provided. The hostess station should never be left unattended unless she is seating someone..the server then went in the kitchen pitching came out handed me our food and was told to never come back. You go to a restaurant for food, you come back for the service. This server needs a lesson on how to deal with public and by all means have a smile .tips mean To insure pleasant service. If you hate your job...
Read moreWe got in and were waiting to be sat for about 10 minutes, and were then given menus and silverware and told to just pick a spot. Okay.
We sit down and spend the next 30 minutes getting ignored by waitress staff, until one decides to come over and acknowledge us. She took our drink orders and we had already picked out what we wanted for food so she was able to get us rung in very quickly. I ordered the Pork sandwich with coleslaw, and it came out decently fast, although my food was cold when I got it after another 45 minutes. I ate 99% of my meal and although it was cold it tasted excellent. Got a drink refill after I was done with my food, and waited for about 30 minutes for my bill. 0/5 stars for waitresses, 2/5 for the food.
I doubt I will be returning anytime soon.
Edit; after reading some of the other reviews, it has left me bewildered that an owner of an establishment would ever handle themselves in the way I have seen on here.
I am fixing my original 2 stars down to a...
