The fish isn't fresh. Even the tempura shrimp tastes and smells off. The service is really awful. As in the waitress handed ME a stack of plates to hand out to everyone, and handed ME three glasses of water to pass around the table, and when I ordered hot tea, I was given hot water and a bag of Bigelow tea to make the tea myself lol. Not even a Japanese or Chinese tea option. What a joke. And isn't sushi supposed to be aesthetically pleasing, if not downright beautiful? These rolls looked like someone took a long, colorful dump on the plates. Oh and I should have taken a picture- there's a sign on the front door that says "Cook wanted, no experience necessary." Not a great sign. The bill was $179 before tip* (*which they add to the bill against your will because nobody in their right mind would tip for this tragedy of a meal🤣 and shouldn't I have gotten a share of the tips for doing most of the service?) for 6 people. Only 4 of us ordered sushi, 2 of us who know better ordered appetizers and salad. I don't know how it was so expensive, I only know I'll never go back and would never recommend this place to anybody. 2 people in our group felt nauseous after the meal. There's a beautiful family-owned sushi and thai place right across the street that never disappoints- I highly recommend going...
Read moreWe took a friend to dinner here at 5pm it was not crowded and so we had a choice seats, we didn't get menus or a waitress for about 39 minutes. We gave an order for appetizers, they 25 minutes later. The place in my opinion was not very clean. For prices they charge I would have expected a little bit cleaner and/ a few plants or decor. The waitress didn't really welcoming. We asked about the menu items. I will not return to frying pan in Dixon, even though the first time I had there food, I thought Wow! This sushi is out of this world. Not so sure anymore. I didn't enjoy the quality of my super California roll. And there are better places to go for sushi, that has a much better...
Read moreThis is my home town sushi place, I've been eating here for three years on a weekly basis, I love it. Tom is a fantastic sushi chef, and Grace and Saleve are some of the best servers I've ever had the pleasure of being around. The food, where can I begin, just get a Chirashi, Tom will load it with a pile of all the freshest cuts of fish, that will be more than enough to show you the quality of their ingredients. Then try the rolls, they're fusion style is so creative and fun, and Tom is truly a sculptor with the sushi. He made a special unicorn roll for my wife's birthday that was unique and beautiful. They're the best, no other eatery in Dixon can hold a candle to...
