Golden China Restaurant — Restaurant in Dobson

Love the restaurant and love the food, but had an issue. I called in a lunch order at 2 PM and explained I was calling ahead to have it ready at 2:30. I showed up at 2:50 and he stated they didn't have any orders. No orders with my phone number. I explained and showed my phone to prove that I in fact called and places and order and spoke to him (the guy at the window checking out) and he went to the back and talked to the woman and then he came back and still proceeded to say no order. It bothered me how he was rude and accused me of not calling. Wasted my lunch break and caused me to have to go elsewhere to hurry up and get food before my break was over. I think they gave my order to someone else and didn't want to admit they made a mistake. People make mistakes, but it's the attitude and way you go about correcting the mistake that matters. In this case, he was rude and inconsiderate and accusing which bothered me. I go there weekly. I was caught off guard by this as they usually are always nice. This is the BEST Chinese takeout within a 50 mile radius! We've tried Chinese takeout from Winston-Salem (meh) to Elkin (wasted trip) to Mount Airy (don't bother, there's nothing good in Mount Airy) to Galax (also slim pickings). Their Singapore Mei Fun is to die for, and the crab rangoon is like a well-kept secret - its off the chart good. Everything is made fresh, to order, and the service is impeccable. A great little family run place, the outside ain't much to look at, but you ain't showing up to take a bite off of the building. Sundays and Mondays are sad days, because they are closed, but when Tuesday rolls around, yeah...

I will forever love this little local Chinese gem, and I will die on this hill defending it. When my family has a night in and we just want to watch a movie and chill this place is our GO-TO for takeout. Food is awesome, servings are great for the price, we just call in our order walk in and pay, easy peasy.
