In response to owners reply: I specifically asked the waiter if they were serving Talipia firstly and Basa (Pangasius bocourti), as it is commonly referred to, is a species of primarily freshwater-dwelling catfish in the shark-catfish family, Pangasiidae, native to the Mekong and Chao Phraya river basins of Mainland Southeast Asia. Here's the POS May 26 LIGHTHOUSE SEAFOOD MAR DONNA TX 4490 $30.38 Lastly why not use Gulf shrimp and support your local fishing industry? Neighborhood seafood place with some decent offerings. Let me start by saying that the service was friendly and we appreciated that. My critique is this: Shrimp was way over fried. I asked what type of fish they were serving, and I made clear that I was only going to order USA farm raised catfish. The server said it was and said it was "Basa." It is actually a catfish, but from Vietnam. I am pretty sure that the shrimp are from Southeast Asia as well. I have zero trust in seafood from that area of the world. The fish tasted fine and was done better than the shrimp. The shrimp soup looked great, but again, I won't be eating there again. Not supporting our US fisheries when they are so close to the Gulf is shameful!

Bomb! I can't believe that I've never even heard of this spot, and it's been around for almost 10 years. I got the Fried Shrimp Special and it was excellent. Shrimp, Rice, Salad, and Tea included. The salad was iceberg, a few cherry tomatoes, and carrots. The rice was lightly seasoned and had corn mixed in, the shrimp were perfectly cooked and plentiful. I also tasted the Balsa fish, and it was really good. I'm definitely coming back here soon.

So it’s not the best looking restaurant but the food is delicious. Depending on what you are getting. Some employees not attentive but some are. Guess just depends. They do have quite a few new items on their menu. Fish& Shrimp plate is my go to always.

First time going this restaurant, only decided to stop by since my wife was speaking highly of it...sorry but she lied The time I went it was a very slow, dull environment, menu put up on the wall rather than having proper menus to see choices, which Is really hard since some of us don't have 20/20 vision...they definitely need to work on that, Also place had flys and a strange auroma that was just very unsettling, Overall I ordered a platter which comes with Fried Shrimp, 2 fish pieces, salad , fries, and fried calamari!!

Very disappointing!!!

No corn tortillas to eat the 2 fries fish which were fried to the point where oil was dripping out,

Salad looked more like 2 pieces of lettuce chopped up into smaller pieces

Calamari!!!! Was so badly cooked, literally looked like charcoal, burned!!

Shrimp were at least decent!

My wife ordered a brisket burger, only to find out that the brisket was already going bad !!!

I can tell by the smell of the brisket that it was very very awful and had a very awful smell

I'd be cautious...

This place never disappoints—it’s my favorite go-to spot! The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the staff always greet you with a smile. I love how attentive the servers are—my glass is never empty for long.

The food? Absolutely delicious. Their bass fish plate is a must-try, the soups are comforting, and the chips with salsa are dangerously addictive. Honestly, I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and each dish has its own charm—flavorful, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced.

If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. It’s one of those places you’ll visit once and then keep coming back to. Highly recommended!
