I had a poor experience the week I stayed at Victoria Palms. The RV park is adequate. My issues were with the reservation, staff, & policies of the park. I made a reservation for a week in a “Standard” site for $364. The park has four site levels on its website, park map, price sheet, and reservation system: Premium, Pull thru, Standard, & Value. I arrived on a Sunday and was assigned site 3240 which is in the “Value” section. Although it wasn’t what I reserved and paid for, and since the office is closed all day Sunday, I squeezed into the site and set up and parked my car in the vacant site next door, even though the 70 page “Handbook of Policies, Guidelines And Standards” said parking in adjacent sites was strictly forbidden. The sites aren’t as nice as the standard sites and rent for $316, but it was fine and I figured I’d just stop by the office the next day and arrange for a refund of the difference. I went to the office Monday morning and was told that I was in a value buddy site which was two sites and included a picnic table which was not part of a regular value site. They said I could park my RV in one site and my car in another. Seemed strange to me, but I left and went to look at the real Standard sites and found they are substantially different in pad and size. Being parked in site 3240 put the coveted picnic table on the sewer side so I should have been assigned 3241 if value buddy sites actually exist. I called on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday and was told the same thing about it being a buddy value site with two sites and a picnic table and there would be no refund. Each time, I left a message for the manager to return my call but didn’t receive any callback. I was also told that since I made my reservation at RVonthego.com, it was their mistake and I might try them for a refund. I called RVonthego who was helpful and as confused as I was about the situation and agreed that I should simply be refunded the difference. They called Victoria Palms and left a voice message and wrote an email to the park about the situation. Each office person I spoke to was incredulous as to why I would want a refund for the difference in what I reserved and paid for and what I actually got. It seemed so simple to me, but it was like an alternate reality in the office. On Friday (day 6), I was insistent on a call back from the manager that day. I finally received a call back from the office manager who said she was hearing about this for the first time. She explained the same old scam about it being an equivalent site because I had two sites and a picnic table and that any mistake was the fault of me making my reservation via RVonthego. Fed up and angry, I repeated my thoughts and she finally said she’d have to call the park manager who I guess authorized a reimbursement. They finally did the right thing, but it took the entire week and several calls from me, with stress and agitation for a simple remedy. There is a culture of the office staff that is not customer friendly or supportive. I felt that I was an annoyance to them and was expected to just accept my fate for their convenience. It was a simple error and an easy solution, but dealing with them for the week was miserable. I will never stay at Victoria Palms, Encore, Thousand Trails, or use RVonthego to make reservations.

I love seeing all of the palm trees as we drive into the park. This is a beautiful, well kept resort with some of the friendliest people in the RGV! There is always something going on in the park to keep you as busy as you want to be. As well as lots of area activities to enjoy.

We stayed in the Thousand Trails section of the park in back. Nice sites, clean park with great amenities. Very nice pool area. Can be a bit noisy with the traffic and train so close. But still our 2nd favorite park in the area. We would stay again.

I'd like to start with a positive on this place. The rooms are laid out well. There are definite separations of rooms. There is a bedroom w/ bathroom and walk-in closet, living room, dining room and kitchen. Only positive I can say about the place. The rooms are dimly lit. I thought I could handle that since there are 2 large windows at the front. Nope...my blinds wouldn't open. The desk and dining room table were gouged like someone was trying to carve their name into them. The furniture and décor looked like it was right out of 1991. The A/C only went down to 74 degrees so the room was humid and stuffy. I went back to the office and asked for another room, I figured this must be a bad room and there had to be good ones. I was wrong, the next room was even worse. All the same problems but this time, there was no recliner, the big screen TV had been changed to a 30" TV, and the blinds were held together by packing tape. I went back to the office and explained my problems and asked for another room. The office staff knew we were moving to their hotel from another that was really bad. They ensured us that this place would be better than the last. I was expecting the office staff to give me another room but they said no. I took the first room because it was the one that was a little better out of 2 unlivable rooms. Now it was time to go back to the other hotel and get my stuff to move to the new one. After getting to the old hotel, I had something to compare it to now. It was not as bad the Victoria Palm so I stayed.

Other people on our team found roaches, had their food covered in fruit flies, and had dingy bedding. I'll let them write their own reviews since it wasn't...

Enormous 1000+ site resort with an onsite restaurant and multiple pools. Drove up to the security gate and the gentleman handed us a bag that contained our map and other important materials. Nice contactless check-in! We stayed at back-in concrete pad full hookup site #2257 and it was spacious and comfortable. The electrical post had two 110 volt plug-ins so we were able to use our second air conditioner. Yay! Our only small complaint was that the post was located on the opposite side of the site. Our electrical cord was barely long enough to reach! Sadly the park was only about 10% full due to COVID-19 and the resulting lack of Canadian visitors. In fact we were the only RV in our entire row. Office staff was amazingly kind and helpful. The resort has portable wifi routers available for rent. We paid $100.00 and the speed was blazing fast. This amount was refunded after the router was returned at check-out. What a wonderful experience! My AT&T phone had 2 bars and the hotspot wifi worked ok. The 100 free cable channels were awesome! We paid $50.00 to setup a temporary mailbox and those funds were also refunded at checkout after we returned the key. Victoria restaurant Sunday brunch is quite a deal at only $12.95 per person. Excellent service and the omelet chef is a real character! Recycling bins for aluminum cans, glass, plastic and cardboard were available. Additional onsite amenities include a small fitness center and craft workshop. Laundry rooms were clean and the machines were well maintained. Large main pool with 2 hottubs. Every staff member that we encountered was incredible. Thank you Victoria Palms for a...
