Recent visit They still add an 18% mandatory tip. While the meat selections have improved, the refill speed on the revolving belt was very slow, and if you sit at the end of the table, hardly any dishes reach you. Unfortunately, the meat quality has gone down—the woodae galbi looked nothing like the pictures on the website, and most cuts were overly fatty. None of the meats had labels, so everything got mixed up and I couldn’t even tell what I was eating. Service was again slow, with the server clearing only a few plates at a time instead of the whole pile. The sushi was also disappointingly thin, almost paper-like."
Updates The meat orders still come very quickly but the server speed is very slow, soda refills plus the dish pick up were all slow. Also, this Korean female server with a pony tail was so mean. She was yelling, providing unpleasant service. The meat quality in general, I feel like it went down. It has more selections, but less quality. The review rating at this place used to be like 4.4, and then suddenly it's 4.9. There are 5 dollar discounts if you leave 5 STARs. I've seen places that does promotion like this, but they usually ask to write a review, not 5 star. Also, the discounts applied after the tip. So is that even a real discount?
Previous review Very quick service. The steak and sushi are high quality—so fresh and delicious. The best service: my steaks came out about 20 seconds after we placed the order. The train is very quick. If you want more sushi and there's not enough on the revolving sushi bar, you can also place an order on the tablet.
The only negative thing I want to point out is the 18 percent tip included in the check, no matter the size of your party. Basically, I place orders and do all the grilling and cutting. The only things servers did were picking up the dishes and refilling drinks(still very satisfied with the service, just pointing out automatically added tip might be bit too much for this types of restaurants and services). Additionally, if other people in the same line of the train don't click "done" with the train, it won't go back to the kitchen and will just stay there, which delays the delivery of food to...
Read moreSome friends and I decided to get lunch here. After viewing their menu online I was of the understanding that ordering individual plates was normal as the prices were listed online. When we arrived we were greeted and then promptly ignored when the group behind us came in and was seated first. We were later seated and told that the buffet was $35. We were surprised and asked if we could not buy individual plates. The waitress was annoyed and said we could, but we couldn't sit there. She moved us to an identical table in the corner away from the few other customers, felt a bit like we were being shunned. She continually trying to pressure us into the buffet option, which none of us were hungry enough for. At first she said we could not eat BBQ unless we got the buffet, then that we all had to eat BBQ if one person did, but both eventually proved to be false as we found the alacarte BBQ menu. She conceded. At this point we almost left, but running short of time we decided to eat and go. Also, the prices were higher in the restaurant than online. The attitude in the air was clear irritation at us not ordering more or paying for the buffet, and when we sat a few moments in conversation after the bill was delivered, they stood waiting for us. We asked to split the bill and this caused more problems. They were annoyed by this and asked us to split it ourselves, which we did by writing out on the back of the original receipt. When I went to sign I noticed that the waitress also added 18% gratuity to all of our bills, though we were only 3 people, not a party of 6 or more, and we did not order the buffet (to which there is a required gratuity of 18% for buffet dinners and parties of 6 or more, but nothing is said about smaller parties or ordering plates). This was sneaky to us. The food was good, though a bit meager in portion. I will take my business elsewhere in the future where it is actually wanted. I would also like to note that after reading some poor reviews, the business replies with the exact same message each time about training their staff to be better. Sorry, but that doesn't cut it after...
Read moreLet me start off saying I usually never complain. I don’t often write negative reviews. I came to this place with high hopes. Came my family on a Friday afternoon. The daytime experience we had was far below my expectation. Upon arrival, my 6 year old daughter sat in the booth and immediately got hit with the grill base cover. It fell and hit her legs and feet. The staff barely apologized, and moved it away and started asking me if I had been there before. Now my fidgeting 6 year old is sitting in front of exposed gas lines. The rest of the family comes back from the restroom and it falls from where the staff leaned it and hits them. Finally another staff member comes by and reinstalls the cover to the grill base.
Next, we start ordering from the tablet that doesn’t move. It’s glued/cemented/bolted/secured by the hand of God onto the table, which makes ordering uncomfortable. I ordered two sushi rolls that never came because “you can’t order rolls until after 8”. Only the belt sushi was available. They should have mentioned that in the beginning, not 20 minutes after I ordered.
The grill is open in the middle of the table. I have two kids, 4, and 6. Definitely don’t bring your kids here… ultimately I asked the staff to turn the table off. Besides it being unsafe for children, it was HOT. My face was on fire.
For my service related review, we sat at the table to 20 minutes before anyone checked on us. I look up front and there are 7-8 staff members chatting and joking around a phone or socializing amongst themselves. We had to get up to get their attention when we needed water. For an automatic 18% gratuity, I expect better service.
Finally, cost. $40/person all-you-can-eat (as long as it’s on the menu… some of the kid friend stuff is not). $20 per child. Drinks are not included. Ended up spending $150 on a lackluster experience. There are better revolving sushi places for lower prices that are more inclusive.
I most definitely will not be...
