My recent dining experience at Fill-A-Pita Mediterranean Grill in Downers Grove was outstanding. This cozy, casual spot offers a diverse menu featuring both classic and innovative Mediterranean dishes.
We started our meal with the Hummus topped with Chicken and Pita Bread, which was creamy and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the tender chicken. The Grape Leaves were another great starter, fresh and well-seasoned.
For the main course, I opted for the Steak Shawarma Platter, and my partner had the Chicken Kabob Plate. The steak was incredibly flavorful, with spices that brought out the best in the meat, while the chicken kabob was juicy and perfectly grilled. Both dishes came with sides of yellow rice and a refreshing cucumber yogurt salad, which balanced the savory meats nicely.
We couldn't resist trying their famous Baklava for dessert. It was the perfect way to end our meal, sweet and flaky with just the right amount of nuts and honey.
The staff at Fill-A-Pita were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both quick bites and leisurely meals.
Overall, Fill-A-Pita offers delicious Mediterranean cuisine with excellent service. We will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.
Highly recommended for anyone in the Downers Grove area looking for authentic and satisfying...
Read moreNot great but not bad… my daughter and I went here for a quick lunch. We both got a gyro, and I was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t cut off the gyro cooking in the back, but taken out of the steam line. It was okay. Not the best gyro. That being said, I also order a falafel taco and that was really good. The service was good when we got there, but when we finished our food and needed boxes, the person who worked there was in the back. I mean they were probably busy working, but they should balance work in the back with coming out and checking on customers in the dining room. My daughter was standing there for awhile waiting for the employee to come out and give us boxes. Finally she said, “Well maybe if I walk out and walk back in to ring the bell they will come out.” And that’s exactly what happened, the employee laughed that she had to do that, and it was kind of funny. I will be back. The food it good. I have had the shawarma before and it was amazing. I think I’ll go somewhere else for a gyro though. I want to try the falafel plate because the falafel had a delicious complex flavor. I think we will do take out next...
Read moreI don’t usually do this, but Ive never been so disrespected in my life. I placed an order online tonight at 8:09 pm. The store closes at 9:00 pm. The email verification told me to come at 8:39 pm. I show up at 8:40. As im walking to the door, the two staff members look me in the face and lock the door. I go to knock on the window and they completely ignore me. I call the restaurant and they ignore the phone call.
They are literally looking at me and refuse to acknowledge me. I paid online and left a 25% tip because I knew it was a little late.
After 20 minutes of standing at the window with the two guys looking at me and ignoring me, I take picture of the guy walking around as he looks straight at me (picture included with the 2nd employee ignoring me as I knocked on the window 20 minutes before close) I get in my car to leave and all of a sudden I get a call from the restaurant. I ignored it and went home.
Ill consider the money I paid as a thank you for never coming back...
