Hello, I order coffee through ChowNow for pickup at Summer Moon about 2-3 times per week. Been doing this for months now, it’s become somewhat of a morning routine before work
Coffee is great! It’s always made right, timely and the prices are fair. I’m a huge fan of the bottled Moon Milk to go as well.
I love the Location and ease of ordering remotely through ChowNow. The main downside to my Summer Moon experience is - Customer Service.
I’ve stopped coming the past few weeks due to a lack of engagement I noticed from the staff. It’s something I’ve always experienced but never stopped me from ordering. It’s deliciously crafted coffee close to home after all.
Today I gave it another go and came across the same experience which made me decide to stop coming all together.
1.- No one greets upon entry. I’ve never been greeted even if staff sees someone coming in. The only time I’ve been greeted is when I purchase in the front counter.
2.- When I approach to get my coffee from the pick up counter- no one says anything or confirms if that’s in fact my order. I could be right face to face with someone(at times not actively making a coffee) and no acknowledgement.
I’m not asking for special treatment, just similar experiences offered by other locations and similar coffee shops.
The staff seems to be mostly engaged in personal conversations of their own rather than give those small micro interactions that make the difference.
It’s mostly empty when I go in, no one in the Drive Thru or Inside. Perhaps it’s the fact that I order to go ahead of time. Maybe I don’t spend as much to make an impression. Perhaps it’s too early in the morning for the staff to be actively engaged. I don’t quite know.
Great Coffee! Beautiful Location! Fairly Priced and always Clean. My decision is solely based on the Customer Service...
Read moreI visited just for an energy boost when I felt drowsy. I had heard this place was top notch so I stopped by. I was told they roast their own beans on an open fire. That’s neat so they must know about coffee right? Not so fast. I asked for an iced coffee with mocha and waited to see if it was a Hershey syrup type. When I got my coffee, I immediately noticed the dark roast was so dark that it tasted burnt. It seems to be a popular thing these days. People accept a bitter taste and burnt taste as normal. It’s not. Do not accept bitter or even an acidic coffee like at Kerbey Lane. Coffee is an art. Cafes have to know exactly who roasts their coffees well or must know how to do it perfectly themselves. To get an awesome coffee flavor, it doesn’t need to be nearly burnt. This place isn’t much more than a place who roasts their beans to nearly burnt and throws in a ton of syrups. My coffee tasted like it got way too much Hershey’s. If it’s not Hershey, it mimics it quite well. Looking for pumpkin spice? Go to Le Muse where there’s real pumpkin in it. I tried a pastry and it was terribly dry. Don’t substitute speed of the barista with quality. I’d rather wait for a fresh homemade flavor versus syrups and...
Read moreMy boss and I walked into this location today and he ordered a coffee, no problems, quick and easy. I ordered just a plain ice small iced coffee after him, paid and left a tip. Well my boss finished his coffee and says he’ll wait outside. 15mins goes by and the 4-5 employees are chatting it up and I’m watching at least 7 other orders completed. The lady who took my order was constantly glancing at me so I was hoping she had kept my order in mind. After that long I needed to get to our job site so I just walked out. The hassle is not worth my time or effort. No I don’t want a refund, I worked in customer service so I know how it is and I didn’t want to leave this review but we aren’t cattle. I just wanted some ice and coffee in a cup...
