Before I moved to the area in 2016 I stopped here on occasion and enjoyed bringing guests here as well. When we started building our house in 2014 this became my go to place for lunch and/or dinner several days a week as prices were reasonable and the food quality was good to above average. At the time I got to know the staff a little and was impressed with their small town hospitality. Now living here we love the Dryden Coney Island more than ever. We’ve never had a bad meal, the prices and portions are fair, and the staff is pure Michigan small town friendly!
2024 update: Dropped from 5 to 4 stars. Stopping here the last couple of years I have not recognized the staff as they seemed to have experienced a lot of turnover. Today we had a very pleasant server but that small town friendliness is not present with all of the servers like on the past. The cook who was there is still there cranking out the same tasty food as always which is a good thing. Unfortunately, for a small town diner they no longer have small town diner prices. I realize inflation has hit everyone but their price increases seem out of line when compared with other local restaurants. Today we had the coney’s and thought tasty, there was a sparse amount of chili sauce on the coneys. Due to the reasons listed, instead of eating here 15 - 20 times a year I am now a patron maybe...

I had a club sandwich that was so hot that it seemed like they microwaved it for 10 minutes. Hot lettuce and tomatoes on a club sandwich.... gross. Today I had their big breakfast. It was not edible. The eggs had a half inch of uncooked yolks on top of them, the bacon was so dry and overcooked I simply could not get it down. Luckily the waitresses are awesome and bring you refills so you can try to get the food down. So I give the waitresses a 10 star rating. But I think a prison cook could do a better...
Read moreThis place is amazing, if you're looking for someplace quiet to sit and fine. The staff are above exceptional, and greet you with a smile, and a warm "Hello" that you would expect from a small-town Diner.
The food was also amazing, as the cook is also amazing, and had a wonderful sense of humor, as can be seen of him smiling, and piling his head out from between the doors.
If you're on this side of town, this place deserves highest praise. The view from inside the place is beautiful, no matter what time of year it is.
Thanks, Main street Coney, for making my experience a...
