Martel’s Pizza — Restaurant in Du Quoin

Called and placed order for pickup, reminding person on phone that their website states June special. “ free s’more pizza with any L or Xl specialty pizza”. He said he would talk to his manager bc he didn’t know anything about it. Not sure he talked to anyone bc he said “ I don’t think we’ve started that yet”. I thought June special was for the entire month of June. First time trying to do business and the last.

We had delivery so I based my rating for atmosphere on the pictures I've seen. The supreme pizza was LOADED with toppings, the wings were a little soft but that was expected with delivery. They were tender, massive, and delicious. The cinnamon apple pizza was the perfect finish (even though I had to wait 2 hours to not be too full to try a piece. I hate to rate a locally owned business poorly; and I only gave 3 stars because I’ve had this place once before just a sandwich and it was good. But the experience I had tonight was lack luster. I’m not sure if this is how the pizza comes; but the Italian pizza doesn’t have sauce on it? It tasted like Italian salad dressing was used as a base? Weird.
