Corner Pocket — Restaurant in Du Quoin

01/13/2024 Our first visit to the Corner Pocket. I had heard about them through a post on another forum. The service was amazing, the food fantastic. I had the ¾ pound hamburger run through the garden. This is a ¾ pound hamburger after it has been cooked we were told. The burger was cooked on a charbroil grill which adds even more flavor in my opinion. The burger was cooked perfectly as were the fried mushrooms. The establishment is clean, with a nice menu selection, there is plenty of seating and also a few pool tables. We look forward to returning. Our Pool League, Southern Illinois APA held an event st the Corner Pocket, in Du Quoin on Saturday. They were the perfect host and handled our nearly 60 guests flawlessly. We used their facility from 11am to 11pm covering both shifts of their staff. Our players had nothing but praise for everything. The food was on point all day long. The service was great from Muffy and Callie to Josh and Jason. Even the owners were on hand to assist if needed. I personally had one of the best Ribeye sandwiches you can find. Their pool tables are top notch and played perfectly. Again, our players complimented them all day. This is my favorite place to eat in Du Quoin. The food is prepared quickly and is delicious. The manager (Linda), is amazing. I have to take a point away for the lack of credit or debit machine. My family and i eat out nearly every day. Usually we pass on the pocket because we dont carry cash. I've heard the same thing from lots of people in the area. Bad business decision, in my opinion.
