Geez what a disappointment! The shrimp salad was iceberg lettuce and very bland tiny shrimp! They looked like canned shrimp. The clam chowder is definitely canned or bagged and frozen. It was very jiggly thick and an entire bowl had 5 tiny whole clams. The rice pilaf was good and so was their grilled cod fish with tartar sauce! The grilled shrimp was overcooked, but their scallops were pretty savory and well cooked. The fried calamari was okay, too crunchy and can barely taste the calamari. The large shrimp cocktail (Mexican style) had a good Mexican style sauce to it but make sure you eat the shrimp with the sauce. Otherwise, you will just be eating an extremely bland shrimp. For the price, none of it is worth it again. If you know good food, this is not it.

Dear owner, Congratulations on having customers for so many years. You are correct, my opinion about your mediocre food is subjective, as well as my original opinion. AS A MATTER OF FACT, I can say I know what good seafood is. I was raised on all kind of seafood. I was taught to season it and cook it perfectly in many different ways (including Mexican style shrimp cocktails and ceviche). I have been to many seafood restaurants. The way seafood is seasoned, cooked/baked/grilled, and served on a plate sets good seafood restaurants apart from the not so good ones . 🤷🏻‍♀️

The fact that I could have sworn the bay Shrimp was canned says something. Also, I know what true shrimp tastes like, and it does not taste like it’s been in the fridge for a couple of days. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning from your food. Regardless, I’m sure many people enjoy your food, and I hope many people continue to enjoy your food. I’ll tell you one thing though, your food service is fast! I am by no means trying to hurt your business, as I have got no reason to, but like you said, my opinion is my own. I have been going to the Shrimp House since 1974, although back then it was named the Shrimp Ahoy as most loyal customers would know. Since then it has been my favorite shrimp and seafood restaurant, so it was very concerning to hear that there would be a change of ownership and possibly a new restaurant but the new owners with the new name have only complemented the ol' "shrimp ahoy". I am glad to say the delicious menu remains the same, fresh' & tasty! The excellent! seafood quality has been maintained or should I say catapulted beyond expectations. Hats off the chefs! The new management is very genuine welcoming and everyone of the nicie waitresses are very kind, always smiling, happy to attend to our service, always checking on us, making sure we have everything we need for our pleasant dining experience.
