UPDATE The last time I was at El Gordo, I gave it a 5 star review. That will be restored after I am able to resolve a recent issue with El Gordo’s adjoining restaurant, KOME. Below you will find my review of KOME, as it doesn’t have it’s own google page as of yet.
My recent dining experience at KOME was extremely disappointing, especially given the considerable amount of money I spent, eager to try this new establishment. The food quality was truly horrible, marking it as the worst hibachi experience I have ever encountered.
I immediately voiced my concerns to our waitress, who promptly escalated the issue to the manager. Unfortunately, the manager never came to our table to discuss potential resolutions or address our concerns. Consequently, we were still charged the full bill of over $120 for two adults and one child.
While our hibachi cook and waitress delivered an A for effort, clearly doing their best with the resources available, the shortfall in this experience falls squarely on management. They appear to lack the necessary skills or training to properly oversee a hibachi operation, effectively address customer concerns, or provide adequate customer service.
I strongly believe this establishment needs a properly trained chef or manager to develop a suitable menu and adequately train staff. I would like to ask the owner to reach out to me directly to discuss and resolve this significant issue. The owner can contact me through the email address associated with this Google...
Read moreAmazing little place, this.
I have noticed a lot of reviews mention wait times but seem to fail to recognize that this is still a brand new restaurant, and every brand new restaurant has beginning pains, especially regarding service.
It took 25 or so minutes for my main course to come out. 10 minutes within there passed before I received my appetizer. Homemade tortilla chips paired with a delicious homemade mango salsa. More than enough to keep me satisfied.
I had tried to order a draft beer but the waitress at my table mentioned they were out for the time being, and instead served me a Stunning Margarita for the price of nothing. Great start to my dinner.
I ordered their Vaqueros Burritos and a Tostada. The Vaqueros were served with a gigantic portion of refried beans topped with some sort of cheese on them, and the burritos themselves went liberal on guacamole, queso, among other toppings. The burritos themselves were much larger than I expected.
The Tostada however wasn’t entirely to my liking. The tortilla had become softened to where I couldn’t grab it with my hands and so I had to use a fork to do so. Nonetheless, it was great, just by taste.
The price of the dinner? Just 17 dollars before the 20% tip. Easily the best price I have seen in a long time for portions of the size that they were.
I 100% will visit again....
Read moreI found flies in my chips, this is not the 1st time as I was told my someone who was sitting next to us. Doctor rice should be ashamed of the staff. Amber the manger was rude and was having staff clean her tables as she smelt like cigarettes. The other sever has track marks on her arm. I could smell the linger smell of marijuana. The food was cold and seemed has it had been warmed in a microwave. I expected it to be better as time goes on. But I think rice needs to clean house. Starting with the head cook who was screaming at the wait staff ( was told his name was Wayne). I went in because we had a nice waiter when they first open. I am going to take it she got smart and left. I won’t be going back in. I am truly appalled, they are expensive and can’t even get good services. Don’t want to find bugs in the food! Don’t go! The cooks are all high! They took a break while the place was full to go outside, they came back in high. The smell was so bad! I am truly disappointed in doctor rice for allowing this to continue! Get it together! Some one needs to call the state! I am Sure if amber the manger is waiting on tables she can be collecting tips, she is a manger getting a manger wage! How disrespectful to the...
