McDonald's — Restaurant in Duck

Normally, I give all fast food chain a 3 star review because they are consistent even if not exceptional it unique it terribly interesting. When it comes to the chains, McDonald's is generally the most consistent and brand protecting of them all.

This is what makes the monumental failure if this particular McDonald's so galling. Depending which direction you are coming from, this is either the last or first fast food stop between Outer Banks and mainland. It should almost be a flagship level place with nice bathrooms, effective and high quality service, and clean tables.... Imagine the opposite, then imagine it worse and you still won't be close to how absolutely nasty this restaurant was.

My mother took my 5 year old daughter into the bathroom and ended up having to explain menstrual blood to her because of the blood spoiled tissue everywhere and blood in the toilet.

The tables looked as if someone spilled syrup all over them... But it was an hour past traditional breakfast service cut off.

They didn't have chicken tenders thawed. The weren't sure if they had more toilet tissue. At one point there was literally no person at the register and literally over twenty people in line trying to order.

The trash can was all full people had to stack fill trays of full trays. When the worker came to empty the trash he audibly stated, "Wow..." When he saw the pile. He filled the container he brought to empty the bag just with the stuff atop the trash receptacle. And couldn't close the bag and walked it outside without closing it... Leaving the trash receptacle container wide open and kicking out a strong, disgusting odor.

And yes, this was a crazy busy period with everyone leaving their vacation rentals but that's gotta be an expected issue resolved with stocking or staffing. The Outer Banks didn't just become popular this weekend...

Lastly, it is an issue of this unique location, but it's also a black eye on the corporation. I don't know what their strategy or power is to compel their franchisees to modernize or update, but unless they are trying to convince people to renovate by using this store as a cautionary tale, I don't know why they are allowing this restaurant to be so vile.

I'd rather go hungry and feel discomfort than to eat or relieve myself...

This is one of the absolute worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been too… half of our order was undercooked , the burger was literally raw biting into it and the other half almost sent me to the hospital, being im severely allergic to cheese and one of my burgers came with and one without.

Our order was simple, plain double quarter pounder large with a Dr Pepper and two hamburgers large with a Coke. Our drinks were completely watered down, our fries weren’t even full - we paid for large and ended up with medium amounts of food. We couldn’t even go inside to ask for new food because all the doors were locked and we were ignored. And then had the most rude service you can imagine from the drive through window just to try and get correct food.

In todays world thank you so much for wasting $23 of my hard earned money on garbage and wasting my personal time that I won’t get back from writing this review. This is just absurd, I didn’t ask you to work at McDonald’s , you made that choice on your own and I just paid you to literally make both of us sick. By the time we got our new food we simply threw it away. Probably the worst fast food experience we’ve ever had. We couldn’t even eat the rest of the “correct” order because immediately we both felt so nauseous. I don’t even know how this McDonald’s is even open and running. The parking lot is disgusting. Multiple mcdonalds bags of food smushed in the drive through and throughout the parking lot.

Safe to say we will NEVER be back.. being someone who’s worked in the food industry for years, the customer is always right versus being ignorant and immediately throwing an attitude and AGRUING with us through the window. I never write reviews but this will be the last time Mcdonalds waste my time. Grandy McDonald's is the worst one I have ever been to. Honestly, it should be shut down. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt but I usually end up disappointed. I refuse to go here anymore. The last few issues we had on different occassions. We were told at the drive thru they weren't taking orders because there was only one person working. That's obviously management or lack thereof. Their ice cream machine is almost never working...big shocker! The one time it was working I received a shake... filled less than halfway. Their excuse was they needed to save some for other customers. I said then you need to charge me for half the shake. I was never reimbursed and management never called me. Customer service said I would receive a call to discuss the matter. I have received hot fries...once. I have been the only person in the drive thru and it takes them 10 minutes to come over the speaker to take an order. I could understand if they were busy. I was THE ONLY ONE! I have left a few times. The chicken nuggets are trash! 🗑 Burger patties, no matter what burger you get, are cold and dry. Workers have attitude. No greeting, no customer service, literally had a worker ask," what do you want?" Lol! I wish I was kidding. My personal favorite," May I please have one ranch and one bbq sauce?" We don't have those and preceeded to give me salt and another straw.😆 I tried to think of one good thing to write vice all the bad comments but I have yet to have a good experience here. Ownership and Management clearly do not care about...
