Dawn's Corner Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Dundas

Meh. We went there on a Sunday to just get breakfast. They always has a breakfast buffet on Sundays. We just wanted to order off the breakfast menu though. Took the server about 10-15 minutes to greet us and take our drink orders. took another 10 minutes to get 3 cups of coffee. Then the server told us, "Oh by the way if you want to place orders off the menu you might have to wait about 20-30 mins" they are really, really backed up in the kitchen trying to catch up with the buffet." She was right the buffet 95% empty. but, why wouldn't you just take our orders, then just say hey it might take a while for it t come out if that ok? ya know? You could see people just staring at it waiting for it to fill up, very, very slowly. This is why we didn't want the buffet. It would have been empty in a hear beat again.

So we sit for about 30 mins, and our server comes back over and says, "So I can't take your order". A couple of us laughed a little because we thought she was joking. she says, "the kitchen is still way backed up for the buffet and they said they won't take menu orders" we all just looked at each other in confusion and were pretty upset. She offered us 2 dollars off the buffet. We regretfully accepted.

This all wouldn't have even been a big deal if the buffet was of decent size. I would totally understand if it was a big spread, and there was a ton of people there.

The buffet was 1 hot table and the restaurant was half empty with customers.... Dishes were coming out about 1 every 10 minutes. on top of that, they were only filling, about 1/3 of the hot table. pretty much just scrambled eggs with ham, dried out sausage patties, and cheesy hash browns. There was supposed to be bacon, American potatoes, French toast, hash brown patties, biscuits and gravy, breakfast pizza, normal scrambled eggs. and a few other things in really small containers.

I will make sure, that I never go here again.

I will absolutely go to the bar next door if I am ever in...

1st time at Dawn's.. Was just meandering around this afternoon, and I got a hankering for an ice-cold beer.. was a little apprehensive about going in....only because, well, i'm me... after trying the first door ( thank goodness no one saw me ) and not able to open it, walked down a little and found the correct entrance.. walked in, and as usual, all heads turned. But instantly, they all went back to doing what they do .. not like some others where they watch and follow your every move. It was 3ish.. so a few spots were open at the bar, plopped my not so little bum down, and any residual apprehension was gone. The patrons were friendly, and they immediately engaged me in conversation. Tracey ( not sure if it's with an E) was very kind. I told her it was my first time there, she welcomed me, immediately introduced herself, and poured me a very fresh, tasty Busch from the tap.. as most of you know, I'm not really a drinker but just had a craving.. and it certainly hit the spot! They have food, not sure to what extent, but something smelled good.. I really like dundas! It seems the people in all the surrounding communities are so much nicer than those in Waseca.. but... sooner or later, I'm going to turn these waseca...

We love to go to Dawn's for their Bloodies. They bring you a glass of vodka, ice and rimmed with spice. You then mix your own with a large variety of bloodied mixes. Then, you have a buffet of choices to accompany the bloodied....asparagus sprigs, olives, pickles, eggs, shrimp, meat sticks, peppers. Then you have a variety of seasonings and juices you can add.....pickle juice, hot sauces, soy, and the seasoning choices must be four or five options as well.

Next is the wait staff ....the gals that have waited on us each time always greet you with smiles! They are quick to serve, check on you frequently to ensure you have what you need, and have awesome personalities. They want to make your time there a great one.

We have had numerous good options from their menu and have never been disappointed. The burgers and wraps are fresh. French fries have a great crispness and are piling hot served to you. Quick turnaround from order placement to arriving at your table.
