I ordered a BAKED penne, calzone and snickers dessert. The penne wasn’t baked. The little bit of cheese was sitting cold on top. The sauce is bland. You could at least ensure the cheese is melted or don’t call it baked?? The calzone is bland. The toppings weren’t distributed. I cut it open and 1/2 was huge onions & 1/2 was mushrooms. The cheese in the calzone surprise, not melted. I haven’t tried the snickers dessert.
Update - I called the restaurant and was pretty much called a liar by the cook. He knew it was completely cooked because he cooked it. He said I needed to go through GH. I said I will not. We need to eat now. I’m not spending another $40 because they missed up. I told him I hope it’s busy because we’re otw. He said make sure you bring the food 😂. Like I wanted to keep this garbage.
When we got to there the food was ready. A nice lady did talk to my nonverbal, hungry son and give him an Italian Ice. She was very sweet and caring. The cook was glaring from the back. I’m still in amazement that you know you 1/2 cooked the food and stare down a woman & a small disabled child. The new food did look way better. Food wise it was edible at best.
I used to eat there back in college when I lived at the apartments across Farrington. It’s been 20 years. Clearly times have changed. We used to order from there all the time. I had to waste gas and drive 9.6 miles for not much...
Read moreI was in the vicinity of this location while shopping yesterday, and called to find out about purchasing a gift certificate for my son for Christmas. The young woman who answered the phone was not very courteous, and when I asked about gift certificates she stated that what they had was a $20 gift certificate for a $25 purchase price. After I brought to her attention to this made no sense at all, and perhaps what she meant to say was that she had it a $25 gift certificatefor $20, she rather rudely replied that I was wrong and what they had was as stated above. I again said it made no sense at all to sell gift certificates for more than the face value of the item, and she didn't seem to care about that one way or the other. As a result of this unhappy exchange, I did not stop and purchase a gift certificate for my son at this location, and will never do business there in the future, as rude ignorance is not what I am seeking when...
Read moreAmante's is the hidden gem of the local triangle pizza scene. Unassuming diner atmosphere, clean and well run. Economical too, high end pizza, barely above chain restaurant prices.
The real draw is their peerless specialty pizza menu. The online menu has thirty distinct, creative pies to try. The hand printed menu is a novel about delicious food. Not to mention the authentic Italian entrees, wings, subs and wraps.
All told, you could eat a different pie or entree every week for approximately a year without repeating a meal.
Listen, I'm a picky pizza eater in my older age. I've tried a lot of pies all around North Carolina. Amante's is one of the best after only one tasting.
The pizza features crisp vegetables hand cut from fresh produce, light on the fatty mess like butter and oil, heavy on the toppings - good clean pizza that feels like you ate a regular meal...
