I recently returned to give them another try. I will only report to you the facts. Writen below is the review from my earlier visit here. This visit consisted of crab dip, shrimp and fish, cajin ribeye and not Birthday cake. Missed opportunity's: I ordered the steak special, but they were already sold out, and the dinner crowd hadn't even started yet. Also, the fish was just flavorless. What was right: the crab dip was very good, and so was the shrimp. Now the steak is kind of a hit and miss. It wasn't cooked as ordered. With that said, it was a nice looking steak and was the best part of the meal. Enough so that my wife wished she had ordered it also. The baked potatoes were also very good. The cake was a nice large slice and was tasty with a cup of coffee. We spent a little over $100 for 2 people, and yes, I would have expected this to live up to the 5 star price range that it charges, but unfortunately it didn't. Don't get mad just yet, because I still would recommend giving it a try. I would go back again. They don't seem to get it right every time, but when they do, it's delicious.
A year earlier: Really have to call it as it was. The quality of the food seemed very good, but if you don't deliver it to the table before it's cold, a five star meal becomes 3. Some would say that a room temperature steak and baked potato are unacceptable, but I'll cut them some slack due to low staff and being busy. Maybe they will get better, they did seem a bit overwhelmed and literally confused as to what went where. I also try to order an appetizer or something extra at each visit. We decided to give the crab dip a try. Again, I was not impressed by their showing. The flavor was more of a "crabless" dip. Still with all that said, it would only take a little bit of effort to get to 4 stars, and some extra push with effort and I could see them achieve five stars. It's all up to them. The atmosphere was nice and the desserts looked great, but I didn't give them a try. Prices are more in line with a $$...
Read moreI wanted to share my feedback on my experience dining at Nantucket in Chapel Hill on March 30, 2021. My family and I dined for my nieces birthday. Initially upon arrival all outdoor booths were socially distanced. The hostess then seated a group of 6 at the booth behind us with a a dog. 1. My son is allergic to dogs and we should have been asked prior to the dog being put so close. 2. The dog charged at me twice just for standing up once to allow my niece to get in the booth and the second time after returning to our table after complaining to the manager Miranda. We had to cover our meals and end our meal early as the dogs hair was airborne. I have never had such a horrible experience at Nantucket and have been a patron for many years. I did not see any signs posted that the establishment was pet friendly and I don’t feel an aggressive animal should be allowed in close quarters. I informed the manager and gave her my feedback but was extremely uncomfortable after the second attempt at the dog charging at me. The owner had to pull the dog back by its leash. Our waiter witnessed it and was apologetic. and will be sure to leave a review stating my experience tonight so others are aware when dining in. The establishment made no attempt to make us comfortable, we were scurried along to exit and pay our bill at the front instead of at our table instead of asking the customer with the aggressive animal to take the animal out. I was extremely disappointed at my experience after spending close to $200 on food and drinks. After the dog charged at me, there was no concern for mine and others customers well...
Read moreWell let me start with I have always enjoyed Nantucket grill until tonight. I stopped by the grill on a Sunday at 830p. They close at 9p. I ordered togo food so I had wine at the bar while waiting. Zee, the bartender is great. One of my friends stopped in doing the same thing I choose to do. She ordered lobster bisque. When she recieved the bisque, it was all liquid with no lobster bits. Having ordered this often, we knew that was not the standard. We asked Zee about it. He talked to the kitchen. He came back and said that's all they have left. Knowing it was around 850pm by now, it's understandable. I asked Zee to get the manager. I think it was, Sara. After explaining the situation to Sara, she offered to take it off the bill but my friend can't eat it. After my friend said she still wants to eat it because the flavor is good. Plus it's late and they are closing. I asked Sara,to clarify, so when your bisque is not up to standard you won't do anything to make up for it. There is nothing you can do. We never asked for it to be removed from the bill. We asked for you to do something to compensate for is lack luster or lobster. Sara said, if she eats it there is nothing she can do. At this point I'm shocked. Customer service is at an all time low and at Nantucket grill. So disappointing. So you pay full price and don't get what your ordered. She could of done anything but all she did was walk away with a smirk like I was trying to get over on her. So sad. I wish good service would come back in style. ...
