Price 2/5. For $14 you can get a bowl of bland grits, 5 leaves of spinach mixed in, two eggs mixed in, meat of your choice mixed in (couple strings of tasteless pulled pork in my case), half an avocado, couple of mushrooms and green onion slivers for garnish. No coffee, drink or side. That's it. Then they want a tip even though you're expected to bus your own tables. So 20% tip you're looking at $2.80. Enjoy your $16.80 breakfast not including taxes or drink. Hey, maybe you can get one of their cough-syrup-cup-sized free waters. Can't guarantee you'll be full though Quality 2/5. The scrambled eggs were so dry they were like chewing rubber. No taste. No butter had even been added, to fluff them up. What kinda 1-star chef does this place have? The pulled pork tasted like boiled pig meat, ripped off the bone without seasoning and with all flavor having floated away in the water - leaving tasteless chunks of meat thrown in a bowl of boring slop. Service 3/5. Where was it? Only one kinda coffee served. Outta luck if you wanted decaf. What gets me is they wanted a tip. No one refilled my coffee. No one brought me utensils. When we were done eating we pushed the empty plates to the side of the table away from us to signal they could be taken. However nobody cared to take them. I'm watching other people bussing their own tables and realize I'm the moron. Apparently I should have been putting my own dishes away too. Cleanliness 3/5. The only gripe I have here, is the "community free-for-all" where hundreds of people shove their filthy hands like animals into one container holding the utensils spreading who knows what kinda germs and bacteria on the spoon you'll be shoveling...

I ended up ordering a breakfast burrito, which was disappointing but at least filling. Disappointing because I was expecting more of a spicy flavor. There was salsa served in a tiny cup with the burrito, but again no spice. Simply chopped onions and tomatoes from what I could tell. It was described as having homemade sausage in it, but I had nearly eaten half before finding my first chunk of meat.
One of my friends ordered a shrimp and grits. She seemed satisfied, but I didn't quiz her. Another friend ordered a Reuben, which was pretty good but she said it had thousand island dressing rather than Russian dressing. They got coconut cake, which I tasted. It was good, seemed homemade, and had cream cheese. It would have been softer if it had not just come from the refrigerator, but, oh well.
The bread here comes from Guglhupf, so I imagine sandwiches are a better choice than breakfast here, since at least the bread will be good. They serve coffee and cookies and various desserts, which looked tasty. I would imagine this is more of a coffee and dessert place than a place for a meal. Sandwiches are probably a fairly good choice here.
There is really no service provided other than bringing food to the table. We had a good time, but I was...
Read moreBull and Bean was super nice. The lady at the register was nice, pleasant, and patient. This was my first time here before so I had no idea what I wanted to get. The restaurant was clean and the environment was nice as well. The bathrooms were clean which is a huge plus for me. There were a few people having lunch and a few others drinking coffee and using their computers. So the food was very nicely prepared and plated. It looked very pleasing to the eye. It tasted very good as well. I feel the food was a little healthier than I typically enjoy. Maybe not as much salt or something. I got the breakfast burrito and my associate got the Manhattan which was some smoked salmon with other various items and a croissant. I'm not deducting stars because this was not food I love. Yes it wasn't my favorite meal ever but that's because I don't enjoy healthyish food. But I'm sure others would and do love it. It is a trend now in restaurants to be healthier and I'm not against that at all. I like to try new restaurants outside of my wheelhouse. So yes 5 stars! The customer service was excellent. The food was excellent. The establishment was clean. The coffee was really good. I almost forgot about that. I would recommend...
