I placed an order online, received notification the order was ready, drove 25 minutes to pick up the order, get to the store and follow directions for curbside, only to wait 20+ minutes with no acknowledgement of my arrival. I sent my husband in to pick the order up and he was told only I could pick it up (understandable) and only the manager could get it (what?). We wait about 5 more mins, no one has acknowledged us at curbside yet. Husband goes back inside, manager is supposedly with a customer still. After 3 more mins, I go in and request a refund. As I’m waiting, the cashier is playing on her phone, other associates are just standing around (all while apparently NO ONE can get me the one item I am waiting for). Rhonda the manager comes down the aisle mumbling under her mask about 15 feet away that “it will cancel out you haven’t picked it up yet”. Nope. No apology for complete disregard for customer service or respect for time. My item wasn’t even in the basket she brought to the front (I ordered a king size comforter). Rhonda was rude, argumentative and beyond unprofessional. She claims her manager, Iesha, was not there and gave me the number to the store to call her tomorrow. The fact that I drove 25+ mins, waited over 25+ mins to receive this level of customer service and basically be denied any sort of refund is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. Rhonda needs training. The store as a whole is being poorly run, let alone managed and employees are not being appropriately utilized.
UPDATE: nearly two weeks later and management nor corporate has responded or otherwise addressed my concerns. “All” I expected was an apology for the complete disregard of my time and the overall incredible disrespect I received as a customer. This is a poorly run company from the top down. I will no longer patronize an establishment with such poor values and customer service. I would normally recommend that you just avoid the Durham location, but considering corporate delivered no resolution either, just avoid At Home Stores entirely. Beautiful store, very clean and amazing prices! Around the holiday time we expect places to be crowded and longer check out times. This didn't bother us one bit though! They have a large area leading up to the registers with a ton of small, but cute pick-me ups. What we did have an issue with was a cashier named Shelia. After picking up a couple of extra items we waited in line watching as this cashier continued to roll her eyes and be very short with other customers. Throwing items in their bags and laying them on the counter. She didn't smile once. She didn't greet anyone that came to her line. She was extremely rude and just nasty to everyone. We had our fingers crossed that we would be able to get the friendlier associate next to her. ..... Sadly that didn't happen. We were treated no differently. I asked if she could check the price of two items for me and she let out a huge huff and told me to look at the screen. I'm not sure how such a beautiful store could have such an ugly associate working there. We were so disappointed with this experience. I wanted to call the corporate number, but I was told by the store manager Ms. Latisha Cash that they do not have one. She also showed no concern over the nasty behavior from her employee. Read moreSandra, who is the loudest cashier I’ve ever witnessed in my life as you can hear here at the back of the store, has the worst attitude in the world. She is very aggressive, obnoxious and just rude. She called me out of my name and she yelled at me when I was polite the entire time to her. She doesn’t deserve to have a job with that NASTY attitude, I don’t even know why she is still employed. Sheila kept telling her to be quiet since she was arguing back and forth with me and she STILL kept trying to argue with me. I couldn’t believe it. As much as I spend at At Home, you would think a customer would get treated well. I cannot stress this enough At home needs to GET RID OF HER as this was the 2nd time I had an issue with her. I don’t know where at home gets their employees from but they need to get rid of everyone at this store and start over.
