I have NO idea why this place has no less than 5 stars!!!
We both ordered the Zeus Platter and baklava (my FAVE dessert!) Everything was incredible and on par! I lived in Italy for a few years, and their food here is perfect! It made me want to immediately move to Greece! Since a health scare a few months ago, my doctor recommended following a mediterranean style diet. The very next day both myself and hubby started on this journey. Bought many books, cooked only at home, and went to mediterranean style restaurants when eating out. This is THE BEST restaurant to visit. The owner is incredible and happy to share information. And let me tell you - EVERY single thing in the restaurant is better than what I've tried anywhere else! I think it's safe to say the dolmas is the best I've had ANYWHERE in the US. This place is out of our way, but we will go out of our way to come back! Even as we sat and ate in the restaurant, regulars were coming in to pick up orders or sitting down to eat. Also, the owner treats their staff like family! I don't like to listen into people's conversations, but this really stood out for us!
They also have a truck with the locals when there are events downtown. I can't wait to try it out!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the both style gyro pita, ff, and hummus and pita. While it wasn't bad, the inconsistent seasoning throughout is what made the food rating a 3 for me. Their menu says it is done just like in Greece, roasted on a spit and shaved fresh. To me, some of the meat in the pita seemed like it was added from pieces that fell off the spit and sat for a bit, while others truly did taste fresh and moist. The veggies in the pita were fresh, however, going a little extra like seasoning your tomatoes (salt and pepper) would make this pita that much better. The hummus was interesting. It was not the consistency I am used to, it was more like a no lump mashed potatos and I didnt really taste any herbs or seasonings in the hummus, the pita that went with the hummus was on point. I didnt see the point of the olive on top of the hummus. As mentioned before a little extra seasoning could make this hummus stand out (diced garlic, olive oil, diced red bell peppers, salt on top) would have sky rocketed the hummus to where i feel like it could have been. All in all, not bad food, cashier was super nice, and the restuarant was...

I have been back frequently over the course of the year, and they always treat me like family. Maryam and Yael are the sweetest ladies you'll ever meet!! Even Gussy and Yaels children are beautifully mannered and help in the restaurant, adding to that warm family feel you get as soon as you enter.
I have told all my friends all about them and my family members as well. My favorite is definitely the Greek salad with chicken; but I do love the chicken pitas with stuffed fries. I recently tried the fish and, as to be expected, it was fantastic ( I enjoyed the homemade tartar sauce).
Gussys place is a staple in the RTP area, as I know a lot of my coworkers frequent there. I couldn't imagine RTP...
