Family Table — Restaurant in Eagle Grove

When we walked in, we were greated right away with big smiles! We thought it was pretty nice that you can seat yourself. The Family Table most impressed me with the large variety they offer! The drink menu was complete with sodas, beer, and wine. The lunch and dinner menu includes everything from burgers and sandwiches to salad and pasta. The onion rings and nachos are a great snack. There were so many creative burgers on the menu, it was hard to decide which one to try. We tried the whiskey swiss burger (swiss cheese, bacon, onion rings, and homemade whiskey sauce piled on top of a juicy hamburger patty)- oh my goodness! The prime rib queso sandwich with grilled onions and peppers was fantastic as well. We were so glad we got the crinkle-cut sweet potato fries! They were cooked perfectly and paired great with that homemade ranch! For dessert, they serve different flavors of Blue Bunny Ice Cream alongside fresh-baked pies and cheesecakes which are made daily in-house. The service has sadly gotten worse each time we visit. We used to come almost ever Friday or Saturday for Prime rib and the service was terrible. He was rude to our 3 year old and never came back. The food we ordered was wrong but we understand mistakes happen. He threw down our food on the table and literally walked away and never came back.. no smile no nothing. We were surprised by the variety of their menu. We tried two appetizers, the onion rings and the fried mushrooms. Both were excellent! I ordered fish dinner and my husband ordered chicken fried steak breakfast. The hot chocolate was delicious and I asked to try a spoonful of chili and it was so good that we ordered a quart to take home! We also took pumpkin pie and cheesecake home for later.
