Decor was cool, food was decent, but bartender dude gave super uncomfortable vibes. Husband & I came in for a late lunch, there were only a couple other people dining who appeared done with their meals & there was ample seating in a large dining room. We asked to sit at a table where we could keep an eye on our dog in the car & he told us that table wasn't available, in fact we couldnt sit at any table in that section, even though the tables were clean, set & in perfect view of the bar & there was no obvious reason why he wouldnt let us sit there. So we instead approached the bar and asked about some of the beers on tap, none of which he could provide any knowledge about. We each ordered a pint, which he wouldn't begin until we brought him our IDs though we are very clearly far past legal drinking age. Ok, I get it, OLCC is strict. So we gave him our IDs. Then he asked to hold a card even though we were dining in. This is normal practice at a busy bar or counter service restaurant, but this is a table service restaurant, there were only maybe 2 other tables besides us, and the dining room is set up so you're basically trapped, it would be a feat to escape without paying. It felt strangely accusatory. So we sat down after ordering our beers - then instead of heading to the taps to pour them, we watched him walk to the back out of view where he remained for a while. I could see him hanging out between the bar & kitchen, not sure what he was doing. After more than 5 minutes, I walked back up the the bar like "hello?" He disappeared again so I went back to the table. We waited another few minutes before he finally brought our beers, no apology for the wait or explanation. He just didn't seem like the type for the position he was working - not personable, friendly or helpful. We intended to order more food than we ended up ordering & would have definitely stuck around for a game or two of pool & another round of pints, but we were ready to get out of there soon after we came in. Gonna skip this spot next time we're...
Read moreI did not want to give this review because we always enjoyed the Pizza at Pizza Schmitza. I believed it was the best in the valley. I knew they were always under staffed and had longer wait times than some places but I accepted it because we loved their pizza. I accepted the fact that a medium pizza was almost double than a chain pizza place but again we loved the pizza. The pizza was huge slices, tons of toppings, crispy but fluffy crust. Perfect pizza. The last two times we had schmitza I noticed the pizza was not as good as it used to be. Slices seemed smaller, less toppings but tasted better than most. Then I got my family pizza there tonight. Sooooo disappointed. There was one person in line in front of me when I got there waiting at the cash register. There was only one staff member up front working and there were 3 people at the bar and two people at a table. I could see what looked like my to go order sitting under the heat lamp. It took the employee 22 minutes to get to me so I can pay and pick up our food. The food I saw under the heat lamp for at least 22 min was mine. I payed 37 dollars for 2 medium pizzas and an order of bread sticks and a two liter of Diet Pepsi. The employee looked in my boxes to make sure it was right, I guess, and handed me them. I drove the 16 miles home to find two pizzas that looked just like the ones you get from Little Cesar’s. One of them was pepperoni and sausage I think. All the slices had pepperoni but only a couple had a very tiny amount of sausage. The breadsticks were cold and hard and we threw most of the pizza in the trash. I understand that times are tough in our world and inflation is out of control but that is not an excuse for what I got for almost 40 bucks and long frustrating wait time. I could have gotten the same exact meal from dominos for half the price and half the wait time. I wish you the best Pizza Schmitza but my family and I will...
Read moreSo this is how my night went. Just about everyone knows I am sober. And have been for over 2 years. Went out to dinner with some friends to have pizza at a new place. Ordered me a Shirley Temple, specifically told the waitress NON-alcoholic! Got our pizza. Then half way through asked the host to to find our waitress because our cups were empty. After waiting and waiting for the drinks to come out. The waitress finally shows up with half our drinks. Jens and mine. I took the cherry and popped it in my mouth, as I do the moment it hits my mouth, my mouth stays to water and I turn ghost white. My friends immediately grab and try it to find out it’s filled with alcohol. Here’s where is gets good. Waitress try’s to be sincere, not knowing what she just did. She bring it the the managers attention. Who tells her to get the drink off the table. Then she tried to come back and lie that is was soda water that was put in the Shirley Temple. While they are discussing what to do with this. We are now waiting 20 mins for the rest of the drinks to come out. She asked us when they come out what she can do to make this right. We are lost for words. Known of us know what to say. So we say since we have waited to long for these drinks comp them. Now waiting still, see the manager and her talk. One of us walk up the her and ask for our check. Not only did they not take drinks off but they added gratitude to our bill. Pissed at this point. We decided we will not be paying for any of these! The guys go up to the manager to confront him. Stating we will not pay! He calls the police on us. At this point I am in Full panic mode. I am in shock. They see I am losing it. We walk out. Moral of the store NEVER GO TO PIZZA...
