Updating my review below. The quality of the product has improved and the bakery really seems to be getting the hang out it. Definitely worth a stop to check out the goods.
I was relieved to receive the notice from the new owners that the retail store portion of the bakery is re-opened in April of 2022. It's a nice place to have in Eagle River.
First off, customer should know that this is not the old Eagle Bakery. So set your expectations according and realize it will not be exactly like the old bakery.
I stopped in early on a Thursday morning to check it out. There was a limited selection of breads, pasties and other items. Employees were still unboxing items and putting them out. I'm not sure if items are baked on site of shipped in. I bought a couple of items and neither was very fresh. I'm going to chalk it up to the business being new and I hoping the freshness will improve over time.
Employees were very friendly though and quick to serve.
I plan on going back in the upcoming weeks in hope the quality of the freshness will improve.
To the new owners, thank you for taking a chance on Eagle River! As a local, I really appreciate new businesses that come...
Read moreWe ordered 2 pies and 2 kringles for pick up on Friday morning for our family Thanksgiving weekend. We arrived to pick up our order, as scheduled, and when we arrived we were told âoh we sold one of your pies.â We were told we could come back the following day to pick up the missing pie (we live a 40 minute drive away). There was NO apology. No offer to do anything else to help us. Additionally, one of the kringles was made incorrectly and nothing was done to make this right either. We went back the following day to pick up the pie we had previously ordered and again there was no apology or offer to compensate us for the issue. It was just HORRIBLE customer service and customer recovery. The staff was also quite rude throughout the whole ordeal. We will not be returning, and recommend those looking for a reliable bakery look...
Read moreI have been patronizing this bakery for years but probably made my last visit yesterday. After the ownership change a year or two ago and an obvious decline in quality and the discontinuance of a number of my long time favorites, I still occasionally visited the bakery hoping things would improve. They have not. Yesterday I paid $12 YES $12 for a loaf of multi grain bread that isnât anywhere near as good as it used to be. In addition I purchased 4 cookies, two molasses and two peanut butter for a buck a piece. The cookies were terrible. The molasses were burnt, dry and not good at all. The peanut butter were lacking a peanut butter taste, not sweet enough and some of the worst bakery cookies I have ever had. I feel bad about posting this for a Veteran owned business but they...
