I recently visited Smugglers at 123 S Railroad St, in Eagle River, WI. I visited here during the Cranberry Festival and had a blast sitting at the bar. The place was packed but the staff had it all covered. I met so many nice people. I ordered their smash burger and it was delicious. I watched boxes of jars of horseradish go out the door all day. I got to have a sample.of it at my own risk and to the amusement of those around me. Good place.

Friends recommended Smuggler's, and they were right. Hamm's on tap, along with a bunch of other Wisconsin beers. It's a small, friendly place with a small grill -- a dive bar, basically -- but the food looked and smelled wonderful. We'd just had breakfast, so we had a big soft pretzel to go with our beverages. The house horseradish mustard served with the pretzel was tremendous. We'll be back to try the sandwiches. Highly recommended.

I have visited this place 2 days in the row during my fishing trip. First day we had few beers and a hot dog. We were so lucky because it was the only place open on Mermorial Day. We came back as soon as we could and had not only wonderful service but even better burger. If you are a visitor and you are looking for a place to feel like home I would 100% recommend Smugglers Lounge.

You would have to work hard to find a worse dining experience in the northwoods than Smugglers Lounge. The place is a dump. The staff rude, cheap and incompetent. We went there to try the horseradish and have dinner. First we were told that they no longer had horseradish, then a small jar and one small plastic cup with a nickels’ worth of stale pretzels was provided for three people. We asked for another cup of pretzels and were told “You better be using them for the horseradish,” by the dim witted bar maid, who then didn’t replenish them anyway. The beer was warm and flat. The menu was remarkably limited, and the food ill-prepared. I live in the area, and understand that sometimes northwoods locals can be rude, but the only explanation for this experience is that they must want to go out of business and are too stupid to simply...

This place impressed me. Came with my friend who loves Hamm’s Beer…because this place is practically a Hamm’s memorabilia museum…There is vintage neon and old advertisements EVERYWHERE! It’s pretty neat to see. The owner of the bar definitely loves to talk about Hamm’s and anything to do with it. As for the food, I got a “Smashed Burger” which comes with a special sauce and grilled onions. It was fantastic. Cooked Medium rare with great seasoning! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Potato salad was also amazing with great seasoning, paprika blend I believe. I also had a Bavarian soft pretzel…and that was also great. You gotta come try this place! Were gonna make reason to stop here each time we’re...

We just had our first visit here, and it was great!!

We tried 3 items, first was the smash burger, and it was fabulous. It is honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. You need to have their special sauce on it. It will really make the burger special. The second thing we tried was the pizza, which was also very good (it had the best crust in the northwoods). Lastly, we tried the Taco special. Those were awesome, too.

Their prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. And both Renee and Mike are great owners & hosts!!

I would HIGHLY recommend that you try this restaurant!!! It is definitely a...
